Here we have yet another pathologist/medical examiner, super hero/crime fighter. This time it's Dana Delaney. This time it's set in Philadelphia.
The story lines suffer from the flaws of many in this genre. Credibility.
The character has problems with her hands so had to change specialties from neurosurgery to pathology. This is quite a step down both in status and money but she was left with little choice. So she is very over qualified to do autopsies. Hence, she takes an interest in every one else's job because she gets bored with just cutting up dead bodies. This is where the credibility issue comes in. After Phillies finest detectives can't crack a case, Dr. Megan Hunt makes a suggestion based on her encyclopedic knowledge or autopsy evidence and the hunt is on.
Having said all this. I watched it on Alibi and I really enjoyed the show. As I said, you have to be prepared to be forgiving. It holds lot of good prospects for a second series. Jeri Ryan (7 of 9 from star trek voyager) is the boss. But not just the boss. The boss who has a fling with Dr. Hunt's ex. There's also a dysfunctional daughter to add to the drama.
All in all, a good addition to the genre with the above reservations.

Dr Megan Hunt...former top surgeon, now epic Medical Examiner, and general know-it-all-about-everything, except how to be a wife, mother and friend, but she's learning on the job! Yes, I think that about summerises 'Body of Proof', a US star vehicle for Dana Delany (of recent 'Desperate Housewives' fame) with a supporting cast of who, who, who (only Jeri Ryan, of Voyager, stands out as a semi-recognisable face). However there are pop up 'special guest stars' which add interest.
Basically, the story is police procedural and episodic, with only family strands (i.e. Megan's inability to connect with her daughter) that spread across the series. Dana Delany does well to carry the show, but the writer's insistence on making her a general know-it-all is grating. If the show reaches a second season it would be nice to have a slightly humbler Dr Hunt, who learns and grows from others, rather than being the only one who seems to know what on earth is going on in the ME's office. Also I do question whether a woman who spends so much time on her feet at the surgical table would ever be able to maintain the standard of high-heel that she sports through every episode

Well what can I say ..... Dana Delany is truly amazing as Megan Hunt Medical Examiner .there are so many great actors/actresses in this show.I am so glad that I have this DVD to watch again and again.
This only plays on Anerican / Canadian DVD players .it will play however on UK DVD players if you have a multiple region player then you will be fine.I really recommend this tv show to any crime show fans or if you are a Dana Delany fan like my self .
