Product Description

From the Back Cover

This book will change the way you communicate forever.

Over half of our communication is through the body, but how many of us actually know how to use body language and, most importantly, use it well?

The power and influence of body language is huge. Whether you need to sell an idea, get your point across, understand what other people really think, body language is at the root of all communication. Get it right and communicating with others will be a breeze, but get it wrong and you’re in for a struggle.

Body Language will make sure you get it right every time. In seven simple lessons you’ll become an expert at reading others and controlling your own gestures to get the response you want. You’ll discover a whole new language at your finger tips – welcome to the silent language of success!

Bit of a let-down 17 July 2009

I expected more from the author of 'Persuasion'
Alas, this book has been hastily written, devoid of fresh material, full of fillers and unnecessary repetition.

As far as body language books go, this is the weakest I've come across. Shame.

I read the author's Number 1 bestselling Persuasion early this summer - while on holiday - and more recently his third book of the trilogy, Mind Power. Loved both of them. I was intrigued about this book, Body language, as I'd read others on the market over the last few years.

This book is different. Some of the others deal with stuff like different handshakes and grimaces - (too much information!) you " can't see the wood for the trees".

I found that this book, being laid out in 7 Lessons enables you to pick up the points and retain them. As with the other books, especially Persuasion, it seems to have the author's trademark brand of humour which drives home the pointe very well.

I ses that this book won the BAA 'Best Non-Fiction Travel Read 2009' Award in which 23,000 people vted for it, worldwide. So I couldn't understand some of the critical reviews that some people have proffered. I thought I was on the wrong page!

If you want to grasp the subject quickly, without a lot of 'flannel', i would thoroughly recommend this book. Finally, I think I can now "see the wood...".

Body Language is a great example of when the back cover blurb doesn't match up to the content. The book claims that 'you'll become an expert at reading others and controlling your own gestures to get the response you want'. It says: 'This book will change the way you communicate forever'.

If I were writing the back cover blurb, I would instead say: 'This book confirms a lot of the stuff you already know'. And 'you will come across a jumble of ideas that don't translate into any practical benefit'.

A little knowledge is dangerous

Not bad
A good book for learning the basics of body language. It definitely makes you more aware of the way you convey yourself to others in social situations.

Very frustrating!
I read Borg's Persuasion book a long time ago now (I can't remember what I thought of it though), but was under the assumption that this would be an easy read, with useful tips. Read more

Very poor
After his last book, this shows as a very poor collection of leftovers. It is badly written, and full of unsubstantiated, generalised claims ("research always shows that... Read more

Certainly worth the money.
I must admit, I was a bit wary of this book- predominantly because of it's entitlement as '7 Easy Lessons'. Read more

Food for thought!
Interesting and informative. I liked this book, it made me think about the vibes I was possibly giving off through my body language. Recommend everyone to read it.

What the ****?
I suspect that, like many people, I bought this book because I had read and enjoyed Persuasion (also by the author). Read more

A book that uses 230 pages to say nothing new
I really like to learn about people. This book, however, left me feeling empty.

The book really misjudges its audience. Read more

seemingly a rushed job!
this feels like a quickly pulled together book that was a publisher's/author's greed after the success of the last book. Read more
