This intelligent, informative book is worth every penny. Never patronising, it covers topics such as food, appetite, nutritional requirements, medical conditions (along with symptoms, possible causes and suggested dietary changes, all backed up with comprehensive explanations).
Whilst obviously aimed at women, most of the book would be relevant to either sex. The sections on headaches, indigestion, depression and allergies are particularily informative. This is not a 'diet' book as such, neither is it a text book. It is a guide to improving your eating and hence improving your health. The attractive layout and human tone keep the pages turning.
The scientific reasoning behind the suggestions and explanations is never too deep or technical, neither is this a case of 'dumbing down'. The third section of the book covers recipes; each one with a short comment on it's suitability for treating a particular condition. Most of the recipes include nutritional details of particular ingredients and details of why they are good for you. This is a fascinating book, one you will return to again and again.
