Product Description

With this sensational milk frother the perfect foam comes at the push of a button. An absolute novelty, the BODUM® LATTE's foaming spiral not only rotates in both directions, but it also moves up and down, thus pumping more air into the milk and making the foam, to put it simply, even foamier. The BODUM® LATTE comes with batteries in its rubber lid and a big button on top to get it going. For best results use ice cold non-fat or low-fat milk, froth it and then put the BODUM® LATTE into the microwave for hot foam.

Box Contains

brilliant - never fails to produce thick froth, must used skimmed milk (red cap) for this to happen. Really, really happy, plus one serving goes round approx. three people.

Thought I was, only the batteries only lasted three times and then never worked. After third attempt at replacing batteries sent back and received a full refund, no quibble.

Well i'd previously had the gordon ramsay 'professional' frother (lol) and it was good while it lasted (about 2 weeks), was good that it could also heat the milk but cleaning it was a hassle

this one is fairly decent, the other review for the cheaper bodum one the whisk needs adjusted but this one goes up and down, you fill it to the line and it easy doubles up the milk, not quite as thick as in the illustrated picture but thick enough, was able to make a macchiato and it had the 3 layers

it would be nice if it warmed the milk too (for keeping the drink warm), or if you could put warmed milk in and froth it, but i tried warm milk and it doesnt give very good results, otherwise you can just put the frothed milk in the microwave for a minute, the container is microwave proof so this is convenient although im not sure if microwaving maintains the full on fresh puffiness

cleaning is REALLY easy, just rinse the thing under the tap, and the cup doesnt have the crusty milk on the bottom as its not heated, the glass beaker is actually dishwasher safe but ive not had it that soiled that it needed that

as the milk gets frothier you can hear that its not going as fast under the strain and if it went at the constant speed that it starts off at it would get 5 stars from me, but as it stands it will have to be a good 4

pros:
quick
easy to clean
decent froth

cons:
doesnt do hot
motor slows down as it gets frothier

Was excepting great things from this as it is expensive for something that you can get a lot cheaper in hand whisks. The first one arrived and the cheap spinning mechanism was broken, sent this one back. The next one arrived and I have to say I am disappointed by a few things:
1. The actual mechanism is cheap and I fear it will break easily
2. Even with brand new top rate batteries the unit seemed to lack power once in milk
3. Once frothed, the milk is still cold and I found warming it in the microwave ruined the froth
4. Standing for two minutes holding a button was tedious and annoying due to the following point;
5. The button simply presses down a contact mechanism onto the batteries - this was also cheap and failed to work so would stop while I'm frothing.

It may be that the second unit I received was also faulty but even so I would be annoyed at receiving TWO faulty units.

Amazon were great about the returns and sorted immeadiatey.

Overall I would not recommend it, get one of the manual ones instead.

This does froth milk BUT the milk must be cold and then you have to stand there holding the button down for TWO MINUTES (which is quite long when you are just standing there). Then if you want warm milk (which also helps the froth to set) you have to put it in the microwave for a minute so all in all, it's a bit of a faff. However, It does give the desired result and in my case was better than getting a whole machine. Looks nice too. Sometimes milk doens't froth at all and I haven't yet worked out why. Other times, after washing, it doesn't work at all until you fiddle around with it and give it a few taps. Having read the reviews of the cheaper Boden manual frother on here, I think I should have gone for one of those.
