5.0 out of 5 stars It won't change your life, but it works good enough with tea, 21 Nov 2008
A Kid's Review
I've never owned a tea pot, and decided to use this with some special teas I bought from specialists, well it works.

But the tea gets cold quickly within half an hour, it doesn't seem to insulate very well at all. I guess it isn't designed to though to be fair.

And it's laborious and boring cleaning it. Alot of water scrubbing and cleaning product is required, and then you have to be very very gentle not to make scuff marks on the metal parts. Whereas before I just used this victorian looking thing my mum used - tea grapple/strainer thing - much quicker with no cleaning up.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not good for one or two cups, 25 Nov 2008
Sadly, if you want a teapot that will allow you to make just one or two cups of tea for yourself, this teapot is not for you.

The press system has a design flaw. It is made in such a way that you need to put no less than a certain amount of water in the teapot for it to reach the tea. If you put less than about two cups of water in there, the waterline sits below the holes in the tea filter, preventing the tea from being in contact with the water and thus not allowing the tea to brew for any length of time.

I'm getting a refund.

4.0 out of 5 stars love it, 30 May 2009
I bought my bodum tea pot several years ago and it still looks as good as new!
I find the plunger part quite impractical and retired it quickly. I noticed my tea got slowly stronger even after pressing down the plunger which should confine the tea leaves. Also cleaning it is a pain!
Now I just use tea bags or a tea egg for loose teas. This is much easier and allows to make just one or two cups at a time.
I love the design and would not ever use one of those oldfashioned china teapots again. I disagree with the review saying the tea gets cold quickly, I usually finish a pot within 45 min and it remains hot until the last sip - I usually rinse it with boiling water to prewarm the glass before brewing my tea.
