The AB BUILDER™ allows you to target those hard-to-isolate, individual muscles, putting the power directly where you want it. The conductive pads are self-adhesive and can be positioned to achieve maximum stimulation of your abdominal muscles. Depending on the programme you select, you will be able to exercise your abs up to 150 times in just 15 minutes! As with any effective method of building and toning muscles, regular sessions are essential. After the first few weeks of daily use you should achieve positive results. The best possible results are achieved when you combine exercise, passive or otherwise, with a suitable diet. If you're worried consult your doctor before you use the AB BUILDER™. HOW DOES EMS TECHNOLOGY WORK? EMS (Electrical Muscle Stimulation) uses electrical current to stimulate your muscles (passive exercise). This electrical current is similar to the electrical impulses produced by the brain to stimulate muscle tissue (active exercise).  By stimulating the abdominal muscle group, your muscles respond to the impulses that are generated by contracting and relaxing rhythmically as instructed by you through the unit. When a muscle contracts as a result of a unique EMS/TENS signal, the chemical changes taking place within the muscles are similar to those associated with voluntary contraction in "normal exercising". These chemical reactions which result from muscle contractions utilizes glycogen, fat and other nutrients s tored in the muscle. The resulting muscle contractions will enable an individual to tone, strengthen and combat flabbiness while improving contour. THE WORKOUT Initially we recommend using just 4 pads to familiarise yourself with the unit. After you are happy with the EMS sensation you can progress to using all 8 pads. Simply place the self-adhesive pads on the area of the body to be treated, select the programme and turn the unit on to start your workout session. For best results we recommend daily use for the first 4 weeks. Limit your initial workout sessions to just 20 minutes, you can increase these to a maximum of 40 minutes. 
THE PROGRAMMES The Bodi-Tek® AB BUILDER™ has three different programmes. For a comprehensive exercise routine we recommend alternating between the different programmes. Programme 1 - Ab Toning Rhythmic muscle contractions to condition muscles with a short interval between each pulse. Programme 2 - Ab Building This offers an extended muscle contraction with pre-programmed varying intensity to maximise the work-out. Programme 3 - Shiatsu Rapid stimulation to simulate Shiatsu massaging action.
