im sorry to say i purchased this item i already had the key fob camera with 1.2mp resolution so when this one came up with 8mp resolution i snapped it up the first one came on time cool i thought but on testing i found the picture blurred so i sent it back it took a month for a new one to be sent to me and when i tested it true it is in focus but is it 8mp nearer 2 by my reckoning my spy pen is rated 5mp and it is a lot sharper i see one with a bentley logo on it supposed to be a 12mp, will i get it if the price comes down maybe

Very poor instructions which keep referring to "fig 2" when there is only fig1. Think carefully before buying this product.

3.0 out of 5 stars and here are some Instructions... 3 Mar 2014

Product seems to work fine, but the instructions are challenging.
Having read through the instructions, I got it to work ok. Here is what I did....

I plugged it in to my windows-8 PC USB port to charge it (steady blue light/flashing red light).
Once charged (steady red light), I unplugged it in order to install the 8GB micro SD card.
I then pressed the 'boot/trunk' button for about 3 seconds to switch it on (red and blue lights come on, then blue goes out once initialised).
I pressed the 'Unlock' button briefly a few times to take a few photos (red light goes off briefly for each photo taken).
I then pressed the 'Unlock' button for about 3 seconds to start the video recording (red light flashes 6 times then goes out).
I walked in front of the camera and showed it an eye test chart, then returned to my seat.
I pressed the 'Boot' button briefly to stop the video (red standby light comes back on), then pressed it again for 3 seconds to switch the unit off (all lights go out).
I then plugged it into my PC again to check it worked - so far so good.
I then unplugged it again, switched it back on (Trunk 3 secs), switched on Motion detect by pressing 'Lock' for 3 secs (both lights flash 6 times then go out), and placed it on the desk.
I waited 30 seconds, and then walked in front of it, then stopped the video (Boot), switched it off (Boot 3 secs), and then plugged it in to retrieve the video..

I would recommend reading the instructions as most of the information needed is buried there, although the words may be in the wrong order! The details such as the cyclic overwriting of the SD card may be important to you for example... Don't expect the most robust item - treat it like a handheld scanner from the 90's and you should be ok...
