Being a massive fan of Bob Marley and the Wailers, I can't be anything but biased in this review! From the opening song (Trenchtown Rock) you find yourself rocking on the couch, wishing you was there in person capturing the incredible atmosphere of the night. Most of the songs featured on this video were taken from his forthcoming album 'Exodus' (The Heathen, Exodus), but we are blessed with the classic and unforgettable live version of 'No Woman, No Cry. This video is simply outstanding. Get the vid, turn the TV to full blast, then chill out to Bob in one of his many finest hours! "One good thing about music, when it hit's, you feel no pain'!

Even most bad or mediocre bands and artists have at least one night when everything comes together, resulting in what everyone agrees is their best performance. Usually this is not recorded and the experience is lost forever. Likewise, the best performers also have special shows where everything is just right and these are also more often than not unrecorded.
Bob Marley and the Wailers had such a night in 1977, but for once the event was caught on film. This night was not just a concert it was a point in history for the development and acceptance of reggae in the UK. There are a few concerts which are still talked about now - the Sex Pistols at the Manchester Free Trade Hall or Bob Dylan at the Albert Hall for example. This was one of those talked about concerts, but unlike the others its here on DVD for anyone else to appreciate.
Just buy it, watch it, and then watch it again. If anyone needs reminding just how good Marley was, this will do the job.

I wish I could go back in time to the 70's and see this great man in concert.Unfortunately the closest we can get to seeing him perform is on video and this video certainly brings Marley to life in the comfort of your own home. The feeling you get when you watch this show is tremendous and it is as close to seeing Bob Marley live on stage as you will ever get. A total 'must buy' for any Bob Marley fan.

Having bought a few Bob Marley DVD's over time, I can honestly tell you that if you buy this one, you will not be disappointed. Fabulous tracks and "videos" (Is This Love is wonderful) and a good documentary which follows on after. Well worth the money. Bob's truly vibrant and captivating performance will make you love and miss him even more (if that's possible).

1977. I was 21 years old. Old enough to have been at the Rainbow to witness this event. Alas, all I ever did in those days was buy vinyl albums and listen to them either with my mates or under the headphones.
How I wish now I could step in to the Tardis (contemporary link here given the 50th anniversary!) and gone to this fantastic concert.
It is superb.
Starting with Trenchtown Rock, and moving through such superb songs like I shot the sheriff, War/No more trouble, No woman, no cry, and finishing with Exodus, I cannot rate this with anything less than 5 stars.
Marley and his Wailers are on 100%, no holds barred, form.
And you even get a documentary on Marley's life which ain't bad either!
Yeh....get Jamming. Go buy it!
