Book Description

A passionate romantic comedy that begins with a windy day, a flyaway signboard, and a hideous crunch. Sophie Calhoun can't imagine how she'll pay for the damage to the luxurious car.

Already cash-strapped, she's struggling to launch her new interior design studio and make a home for her daughter. She's only days away from disaster.

Out of the sleek black Jaguar storms super-yacht tycoon Rafe Severino. Steaming mad. Totally gorgeous. And desperately in need of a top-line decorator for his spectacular new harbor-side mansion.

Sophie fears her dream contract comes with strings that tie her to the boat-builder's bed. No matter how she tries to escape, he's always there - implacable and irresistible.

She knows he doesn't want a preoccupied single mother, but concealing her daughter's existence from the man she's falling in love with is getting harder and harder. If he discovers her lies, she'll instantly lose everything.

Warning: contains one determined golden-skinned man who knows his way around boats, bodies and bed-sheets.

More About the Author

Kris writes sizzling contemporary romance, pure and simple. Well, maybe not that pure! They're sexy stories about couples who fall in love, and into bed along the way, just like real people do.

If it's fine, she gardens. If it's wet, she writes. And if the writing's going well, the garden can look after itself. She's an advertising copywriter and a decor specialist, and the author of 'The Boat Builder's Bed'. More than a million of the English version were downloaded free, and giving away a taste of her work kick-started sales of all her other novels.

Seven of her books are set at least partly in New Zealand's capital city of Wellington so she can make use of the beautiful harbour in the plots. This is her Wicked in Wellington series.

Her most recent books are her Heartlands series - stories of the girls who live deep in the kiwi countryside. The first is 'Iceberg Eyes' - a novel set in the alpine resort of Queenstown, way in the south. 'Christmas Holiday Husband' is the second, and takes you to a huge wealthy farm with its historic homestead and family heritage. Then there's 'More than the Money' - with a cowboy! Her best seller is 'Taken by the Sheikh', and she has more sheikh stories in the pipeline.

Check out her website - http://www.krispearson.com Click on the covers on the first page for extra photos and stories behind the stories. There's also a Spanish version of her website with four books so far translated - click the Spanish flag at the top right to get there.

The photos here show Kris with a selection of her writing friends at Romance Writers of New Zealand conferences - James Scott Bell, Diana Fraser, Kylie Griffin, Maggie Le Page, Gracie O'Neill, Tracey Alvarez, Joanne Hill, and Kendra Delugar. There's also a view of Wellington harbour, and a slice of her garden.

5.0 out of 5 stars Romantic, saucy and with a good storyline 30 Sept. 2012

They do say that you should never judge a book by it's cover and how right they are. I loved it, struggled to put it down and reluctantly did so only because I had to get up for work at 6am!

Ticks all the boxes for a good romance. Well written, strong characters, good storyline combined with much steamy content, tugged on the heart-strings as well as made me smile. I will definately read it again.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not a good read 29 Nov. 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
A very soppy love story, that focuses mostly on money. A very unrealistic love story, full of whining characters. I'm all for the love and romance, but not when it's based only on money, wealth and exceptional looks. There was no gritty rawness, and the book was not well written. Lacked any description or flair except in the sex scenes. If you want a book to make you think, or to challenge your intelligence, do not read this. I'm very glad it was free!

I saw this book was free and thought why not?
At first I thought it was going to be ok, but once I started it I couldn't put it down.
I highly recommend this book, as it is written really well, and people can easily relate to it.
Go for it! :)
