From the Inside Flap

"Boas and Pythons of the World is quite enjoyable. Mark O'Shea is a good writer with an easy, readable style. The book contains much useful information, and the personal experiences O'Shea weaves into his accounts add a nice personal touch."--Robert C. I have expected much more than I found in this book. It covers basics of each species. I guess that it is directed mostly to unexperienced hobbyists. I do not regret spending money for it, since I admire the author a lot. Snake experts and advanced keepers should reconsider this buy and not expect many revelations. There are two great things about this book; it is equipped with great pictures and each species has its precise geographical localization described.

a good read, with some very clear photos of species you don't often see in books, but could have done with more information on more species of boas and pythons, or am I just being greedy.

This book expresses the sheer beauty of snakes both in behavior & in appearance magnificently. Very clearly written, the scientific jargon that is used is explained at the beginning of the book & attempts to avoid confusion of any sort, making it very easy even for a layman like myself to comprehend. There are a few spelling mistakes here & there that needs editing out, other than that my only problem with this book is that it isn't big enough!

This is one of the better books in the world on boas and pythons. The photographs - as always with Mark o'Shea are outstanding.Covers all continents and biotopes reasonably accurately. There are some species left out but considering the staggering number of species worldwide - this does actually cover most of the significant ones.

This book is an awesome read, is really informative.

The one thing I don't understand is why the scientific explanations for the species of snakes. We're not all scientists you Know? The book has really clear photo's. I think it's well worth the money, & it scared my mum & sister- in- law.
