5.0 out of 5 stars An important message for mothers to be 17 May 2013

An excellent, honest and reassuring read.

As a 30+ with the expectation of having a baby at some point, this book gives comfort in the anxieties that many of us face. I love the fact that Jane does not prescribe to the strict 'must do this' approach but gives advice based on the acceptance that everyone is different.

A superb section on balancing your career, relationship and babylife, with a few secrets a first-timer will do well knowing.

2.0 out of 5 stars Only empty promises 21 Jun 2013

I bought it for free and very happy about it. Absolutely no use. Just set of generalities and common facts. No need to spend your money to learn the fact, that during pregnancy "your body will change" or some other well known statement. I think such books are explained by modern system of eBooks for authors, when you can upload it to Kindle without any editorial opinion. When you get such "full in substance" book for free as incentive to further purchases of this author, it would do. But expect money for this is no less than insult.

This is a really helpful guide for new mums-to-be, especially those coming from a corporate setting who may not be looking forward to ALL the changes that having a child brings with it!
Lots of helpful printables and resources, and a real, down to earth approach that's very accessible.

5.0 out of 5 stars At last it's here... 10 Jun 2013

Finally the book working mums have been waiting for: Not another wordy analysis of working versus stay-at-home mums but practical advice and personal insights to help women get a handle on this dramatic and often daunting life change. Part memoir, part guidebook, Boardroom to Baby helps new mums prepare for and negotiate the transformation from independent woman answerable to no-one, to suddenly being at the beck-and-call of a little person - seemingly the one thing in our life we can't control. Having a baby later in life can be a huge shock to the system, but this book is reassuring and uplifting and covers everything we might need to know to get us through. In bite size chunks.
