DVD Description

Celebrity stalker Avid Merrion returns with a third instalment of Bo'Selecta! featuring a host of brand new celebrities immortalised in latex, including Kat ‘Slater’ Moon, the over-sized Jordan, Justin from The Darkness and Simply Red’s Mick Hucknall. And there’s the very welcome return of old favourites including Craig David, Michael Jackson and Mel B.

This time, Avid takes on the role of the "chat show host" with guest appearances from real celebrities, as well as backstage antics with the Bear and celebrity agent Keith Lemon. Bo'Selecta! promises more eclectic stories from the world of celeb, as well as interviews and gossip in Avid’s own unique style. "Thank you please!"

Xmas Special:
Avid Merrion returns for a one off Christmas Special. Ho Ho Ho Selecta! is stuffed full of all the usual favourites: Craig David visits Santa, Michael Jackass takes up Carol singing, Mel B spends Christmas with Patsy Kensit and Elton John provides his very own Queen’s Speech, along with a whole host of real celebrities to join in the festive fun. It’s a proper Bo’ selection box. This special disc also contains 'Proper Crimbo!' the video of Avid Merrion’s Christmas single and 'The Making of Proper Crimbo!' a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the video.

Bo Selecta 1 was funny, but the this second series is bloody hilarious. I wouldn't say its a particularly clever comedy - it basically is what many would refer to as 'toilet humour' and silly masks/voices, but its still hilarious. I think its one of those things you either love or hate, theres no imbetween. If your looking for a refreshing change from some of the bland that is now churned out on a constant basis, then you will most likely find Bo' Selecta! enjoyable. It has its weak characters and an annoying fake laughter track (maybe you can turn it off on the DVD, lets hope) but it has some staple charicatures that never cease to amuse. I actually wet myself when I saw the size of Ant and Dec's heads for the first time. Craig David, Kelly Osbourne and The Bear are also very, very good.
It's proper Bo I tell thee!

Bo' Selecta is not cutting edge clever comedy like Alan Patridge or the Office but it is however very original and funny. The show is just right for simple and easy viewing, you don't have to pay too much attention to it. The characters in the rubber masks such as Craig David, Michael Jackson, etc are all extremely funny. Avid Merrion on the other hand, a celebrity stalking obsessive is just plain weird - I just hope that is the purpose of the show. I would have just given this DVD 3 or 4 stars if it hadn't been for THE BEAR. The Bear is a hilarious creation and hope it gets its own spin off series. The DVD is good value for money as it contains 8 great episode and a pile of extras spread over a 2 Disc set. I would recommend it.

Bo Selecta! 2 DVD is a must have for Bo Selecta! fans and people who enjoy a good laugh!

The show is based around Avid Merrion (Leigh Francis), a celebrity stalker. You will see him meet various celebrity's and ask them all sorts of questions, he even performs a duet with Meat Loaf which is brilliant. There is also a funny sketch with David Sneddon.

The old favourite's from the 1st series here: Michael Jackson, Craig David, David Blaine and Mel B etc. There are also many new characters, such as Britney Spears, Kelly Osbourne, Marilyn Manson, Lorraine Kelly, Christina Augilera and Ant and Dec.

Personally, I think there is too many characters. Some of which I don't find funny, e.g. Marilyn Manson, Jonathon Ross and Ricky Gervais (The Office). But, everybody is different and I'm sure there are people who will like them. My favourites are MJ and Craig David. The show is largelly based around these two. The real Craig David (or as he is in the show, a tribute act "Craig Davis") shows he has a great sense of humour by appearing in the final episode of the series.

The DVD is a 2 disk set. The 1st disk contains episodes 1-8. There was not 8 episodes in this series, the "Proper Bo!" episodes were highlights of the first series.

The second disk is called "Laid Bear", as you may have guessed, is hosted by The Bear. It includes a unique and funny look behind the scenes at the making of Bo Selecta!

There are lots of deleted scenes on the disk, a rather funny few scenes featuring Robbie Williams (masked version, not real!) which didn't make it into the series. If you're a fan of the Ant and Dec part of the show, you'll love the Bo Sexier part of the second disk. Also, the extended scenes give you a different outlook on some scenes from the show. You get to look at Avid's gallery and Bloop Selecta, the outakes.

Some people may be offended by the use of bad language throughout the show, so I wouldn't recommend watching it around young ones!

A great DVD package, made extra special by the well thought out and clever menu's. The reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 is I think the 1st series is slightly better. But this one had a lot to live up to, and was still fantastic, despite being let down by a few too many characters!

Its Proper Bo I tell thee...
