Product Description

Bo’ Selecta! returns to DVD for a brand new irreverent look at the world of celebrity. Obsessive fan Avid Merrion, aided by The Bear and various rubber-masked celebrities hosts the eight-part series from the squalor of his bedroom, guiding viewers through an eclectic mix of celebrity stories, interviews and gossip in his unique style. The series features the appearance of many new faces such as Ricky Gervais and Christina Aguilera, alongside favourites such as Craig David, Michael Jackson, Mel B and the Osbournes. Thank you please.

Bo Selecta! 2 DVD is a must have for Bo Selecta! fans and people who enjoy a good laugh!
The show is based around Avid Merrion (Leigh Francis), a celebrity stalker. You will see him meet various celebrity's and ask them all sorts of questions, he even performs a duet with Meat Loaf which is brilliant. There is also a funny sketch with David Sneddon.
The old favourite's from the 1st series here: Michael Jackson, Craig David, David Blaine and Mel B etc. There are also many new characters, such as Britney Spears, Kelly Osbourne, Marilyn Manson, Lorraine Kelly, Christina Augilera and Ant and Dec.
Personally, I think there is too many characters. Some of which I don't find funny, e.g. Marilyn Manson, Jonathon Ross and Ricky Gervais (The Office). But, everybody is different and I'm sure there are people who will like them. My favourites are MJ and Craig David. The show is largelly based around these two. The real Craig David (or as he is in the show, a tribute act "Craig Davis") shows he has a great sense of humour by appearing in the final episode of the series.
The DVD is a 2 disk set. The 1st disk contains episodes 1-8. There was not 8 episodes in this series, the "Proper Bo!" episodes were highlights of the first series.
The second disk is called "Laid Bear", as you may have guessed, is hosted by The Bear. It includes a unique and funny look behind the scenes at the making of Bo Selecta!
There are lots of deleted scenes on the disk, a rather funny few scenes featuring Robbie Williams (masked version, not real!) which didn't make it into the series. If you're a fan of the Ant and Dec part of the show, you'll love the Bo Sexier part of the second disk. Also, the extended scenes give you a different outlook on some scenes from the show.

Bo Selecta 1 was funny, but the this second series is bloody hilarious. I wouldn't say its a particularly clever comedy - it basically is what many would refer to as 'toilet humour' and silly masks/voices, but its still hilarious. I think its one of those things you either love or hate, theres no imbetween. If your looking for a refreshing change from some of the bland that is now churned out on a constant basis, then you will most likely find Bo' Selecta! enjoyable. It has its weak characters and an annoying fake laughter track (maybe you can turn it off on the DVD, lets hope) but it has some staple charicatures that never cease to amuse. I actually wet myself when I saw the size of Ant and Dec's heads for the first time. Craig David, Kelly Osbourne and The Bear are also very, very good.
It's proper Bo I tell thee!

Bo' Selecta is not cutting edge clever comedy like Alan Patridge or the Office but it is however very original and funny. The show is just right for simple and easy viewing, you don't have to pay too much attention to it. The characters in the rubber masks such as Craig David, Michael Jackson, etc are all extremely funny. Avid Merrion on the other hand, a celebrity stalking obsessive is just plain weird - I just hope that is the purpose of the show. I would have just given this DVD 3 or 4 stars if it hadn't been for THE BEAR. The Bear is a hilarious creation and hope it gets its own spin off series. The DVD is good value for money as it contains 8 great episode and a pile of extras spread over a 2 Disc set. I would recommend it.

Series 2 of Bo Selecta saw the programme hits its comedy stride. There are a couple of dud sketches (most of which involve that fool Federico from BB) but 95% of the series is gold. From Xtina as a mobile home dwelling prossie to the constantly aroused Bear, everything here makes me smile and often laugh like an idiot, a rare enough occurence with modern comedies (post Fools and Horses).
The one complaint I would have is that the laugh track is obtrusive to the point of annoyance but you can turn it off on the main menu (an option I'd like to see on all comedy DVDs, I don't need an audience to tell me when to laugh). So, I don't have any complaints, then

What a great series its even better than the first series, with this series u get a special bonus dvd, packed full of extras, extra long bear interview, outakes and all sorts. On the first disc u get the eight episodes from the series, this is 2 more than series 1. All of the episodes are fantastic, if u havent seen series 1. buy that as well, you can buy them both together for about 25 notes. Even more charachyers in this series, incl regulars Micheal Jackson, Craig David, Mel B, The Bear, Kelly osbourne, David & Victoria Beckham, Christina Aguleria, Ricky Gervais, of course celebrity obsessed Avid Merrion and many more. So buy this and your be saying Bo' Selecta in no time!! Buy This Now!!

I going to start by saying this, Bo Selecta is brilliant!
I usaualy like clever jokes like the ones in The Simpsons or Family Guy but I just can't help laughing when Mel B comes onto the screen in Bo Selecta.
If some of you have never heard of Bo Selecta (who hasn't) it's about impressions on famous celeb's like David Blaine and Michael Jackson.
What surprized me was the ammount of celeb's appear on Bo Selecta even though they are made fun of throughout the series!
There are of course bad points about Bo Selecta. Jokes can become repetative when you reach episode 9. This stops this DVD from being a classic 5 out of 5.
Hopefully the DVD will have extras like the extras in series 1. Deleted scenes were sometimes funnier than the actuall episodes.
If you want to have a great laugh, BUY THIS! Proper Bo!
