To say that Blunder is a bit like Marmite - you either love it or hate it - is probably an oversimplification. The main weakness of this show is that it does not have the immediacy of something like Seinfeld of Friends; Blunder is a grower, and many viewers simply don't have the time to appreciate its veiled idiosyncratic genius. Had there been a second or third series it would have been fantastic to see how some of these characters developed over time, but this won't happen now. My final word on Blunder is that I very strongly recommend this show to comedy fans as a wonderful and unexpected bolt out of the blue that went over most people's heads. If you missed it first time around then do yourself a favour: forget the job/wife/gym/pub for one night and watch the all episodes back to back - you will understand why I say this is the most underrated comedy of the past decade.

I actually forgot how many hilarious characters were in this seriously under-rated (and vastly unheard of) TV show. For me, the top 3 are Karate Johnson, Franco Franco and Emperor Boswellox. What makes it even more funny is that in the live segments there are copious amounts of "corpsing" where the comedians are trying so hard to keep themselves from laughing out loud. This is none so more apparent than in the Boswellox series of sketches where upon the Emperor asks crew and guests alike if they want a particular type of food! Anyway, in short - a gem of a show that I feel lucky to have seen and can now watch again, and again and again. Chicken and chips? Hahahaha.

There were a lot of bad reviews of this when it came out and I have to say at the time I would wonder if they were talking about the same program. I found it to be mould breaking and hilarious. My son and and his friends also loved it. We still quote it today - "I'll be back in da minute" and "Oh blow" to name a couple. Have watched the dvd a few times and still enjoy it - the baron is a personal favourite.

It's a shame it got panned as we never got to see a second series. When you consider something like titty bang bang got a 2nd series then that is a true crime (Blunder is far and away superior).

An excellent sketch show which did not deserve the negativity it got.

Well, the preceding 2 reviews skew this DVD's rating badly. So here's one to redress the balance. This series is pure genius, every single comedian holds their end up well, no turkeys here Mr Matthews! I wouldn't avoiding buying it simply because 1 or 2 people don't "get it", instead, hopefully let me tell you why you should buy it, assuming of course you missed it on C4. If you like Mighty Boosh and like your comedy even lower-brow, Blunder is for you. If you'd like something a little less contrived than a lot of other so-called "comedy" but with more of a punch, Blunder is for you. If you liked the insanity and inanity of Snuff Box (Matt Berry and Rich Fulcher) and want more in that vein then yes, Blunder is for you. Tom Meeten is responsible for the best laughs here along with Simon Farnaby who guested with Tom in several episodes of Boosh. His characters are not designed, they are organic, unbelievable and yes, downright stupid. Most of the comedy is plain silliness but so extremely funny you'll be repeating (or singing) it for months. Tom Meeten's "The Baron" is the cherry on the cake, a ridiculous fuzz-haired Northerner in a catsuit who regals the audience with the many reasons why, "I'm evil" all the while prancing around the stage. No, doesn't sound funny does it? None of this does, you just have to watch it. Yes, some people will claim "not to get it" or even worse fail to admit they don't get it. The thing is, there's nothing to get. It's just a bunch of people being silly. Like you or I do on a Saturday night. Talk crap and have some fun. Simple as.

Blunder is not so much a written sketch show as a live comedy with a vague idea behind each piece. What you'd expect from live comedy. Crude, rude, straightforward alternative comedy, extremely funny!

An absolute classic. Totally puerile. Really funny. If you need to be spoon-fed your comedy best stick to My Family or Two Pints.
