Chester Burnett (aka Howlin' Wolf) is probably the most under rated blues man ever. In his time he was considered right up there with Muddy Waters but when blues became fashionable with the 1960s "right on" set he was over looked. This has continued to the current day. The Wolf's songs have however, survived the test of time being catchy, gutsy and of course bluesy. Maybe it is the catchiness of his songs that has made him unfashionable?
He was also famous a show man with scintilating live sets. This energy comes through on his recordings. This is a a comprehensive selection so is a good starting point. If you like blues and have nothing by Howlin' Wolf then do order this because without it there is a gap in your collection.
