I have been waiting for what seems like forever for this book to arrive on my doormat! All I can say is that I wasn't disappointed and the wait was well worth it!
It was wonderful to have a heroine I could identify with, we're similar ages and she too had had children and knew what it was to work a soul destroying job! I enjoyed Keely's story unfolding and her enviable relationship with the gorgeous Regan was stuff that dreams are made of - yes I was jealous but still wanted it to work out for her!
The character Rob really stirred things up and I wasn't sure what would happen there for a while (sorry, being cryptic as I don't want to include any spoilers for those who haven't read it - and if you haven't, why not?! Go buy a copy now!) Suffice to say I'm interested in the way his story and relationships develop too!
Add to this a beautiful setting, an evil baddie and a new set of worlds in which anything can happen and you have one enthralling read!
I cannot wait to read Thistle Lodge and see how this story unfolds, it is just extremely unfair that I now have to wait another year (but I am sure that it will, once again, be worth it!)

Delightful story with some beautiful moments, some real sadness and a lot of old fashioned romance, as the Sidhe are thousands of years old of course! I especially enjoyed the imagery of the underworld, and where the 'horses' are concerned I don't want to give any spoilers away so I'll just say that I felt every part of the lovely journey. I must disagree with the very harsh 1 star given by one review, I would only give a 1 star if something was totally unreadable whereas this story is such an easy read and flows so well... I think When stating it was high school writing that they may have missed the point if they were referring to the language used by the male sidhe character as is explained in the story.
This isn't an action packed story, more a sweet romance and tale of friendships and hope with a little action thrown in. It's a nice light read for all ages and was a pleasant break from tall action doom and gloom! Still enough twists to set a nice pace, and I'm starting book 2 straight away x

Great paperback which is difficult to put down once you start it. Clearly the author has done a lot of research about the mythical legends of the Sidhe and the Irish language and culture. Not like Twilight - certainly no vampires! Nevertheless those who do like the Twilight genre will no doubt enjoy this too provided they don't compare. Can't wait to read the second book of the trilogy and hopefully one day see it all on screen! As there is no bad language or sex it is suitable as a gift for all ages but probably teenagers/young adults and those with imagination will enjoy it most.

I liked the idea of this story and its legend/mythological credentials but, while I enjoyed it, I felt it lacked the magic of a true fantasy tale. It reads a little like a dear-diary style of writing, which can feel a little wooden at times. That said, the characters are likeable and the story is good.
