Blue Spot Battery Bulb and Fuse Tester

Don't get me wrong, it works just fine, but after testing 30+ batteries, you have to learn whats a good test and whats not so good.
I tested over 30 AA batteries before I came to this conclusion.
Here are my conclusions of what the meter readings mean:

-Upper end of the green zone. This means they are still ok to use.

-Middle of the green zone. This means they are still ok to use but won't last long.

-Lower end of the green zone. Will be ok in my torch, showing a reasonably bright lightbeam BUT if I use them in my wall clock it looses time.

-Yellow zone. Will show a dull lightbeam in my torch but cant be used for anything else.

-Red zone. Don't bother using them.

I purchased this to test a bundle of batteries that have been sitting in the drawer for ages and really pleased I did! The Blue Spot Battery Bulb and Fuse Tester arrived quickly and enabled me to test several sizes and shapes of battery with ease.

The unit includes a sliding section at the side which can be adjusted to the size of battery to be tested. Once the top and bottom contacts connect to the battery, the dial in the centre displays the charge (or lack of charge) remaining on the battery. Under the centre display are further connectors for different types of battery, bulb or fuse.

I successfully tested all the batteries I had including several rechargeable ones in various sizes before and after recharging. I have yet to test the unit with fuses and bulbs but definately a good buy if you use a lot of gadgets that need replacement batteries on a regular basis!

Note that the instructions for use are written on the back of the packaging so worth retaining it for reference until you are familiar with it's operation. To be fair, using the unit is pretty straightforward and doesn't take much common sense to use.

After recently giving my previous battery tester to a charity shop, this one was a welcome break and so straight forward. My old one had a dial with symbols and squiggles that meant nothing to me and after ten minutes of trying to work out how to use the damn thing, I frequently threw batteries out that were probably okay but I was never going to find out.

This product doesn`t try to be anything more than a battery and bulb tester with a sliding bit that `traps` the battery in place, regardless of whether it`s a AA, AAA, C or D and there`s an obvious place for those funny square shaped ones as well. I love the simple design and with no dials or other options to have to navigate through, it works ... beautifully ! I`ve even got to the stage of testing batteries I KNOW are good just so I can use it but perhaps that says more about my life than the product itself so maybe I shouldn`t have mentioned it.
