This is a wonderful and unique collection of one of the most original bands to come out of South Africa, from their beginnings in 1964 to the last, fiery performances just 13 years later following the deaths of two key founder members. If you like South African jazz, or just inventive and exciting music, you have to have this!

This collection is intense. It is intimate and powerful. Here a great band lives celebration and rebellion. Here there is the joy of being together and the pain of loss. This is music that holds all human emotion and experience.
This too is a fusion of styles and a meeting of genre. There is the vibe of Free Jazz and the struggles of coming from a racist situation. There is also the freedom that was London (at a point in time) for a selection of exiles. (Is it still there?)
If you are not sure about this collection - the advice is simple. Buy it - then go away for the weekend and listen through! You will more aware of your humanity for the experience. You will be renewed and excited by concepts of friendship and creativity.

Do you know the Blue Notes? You don't know what you are loosing. Music made with soul , suffering and plenty of talent. Excelent oportunity to contact with the great music that has born in South Africa.
