Product Description

Product Description
The Midnighters have emerged victorious from their greatest challenge. They now know much more about the secret history of Bixby and, with the halfling dead, the Grayfoots' link to the darklings has been severed. But the cost is high. Rex's horrific experience in the desert has left him damaged, painfully suspended between light and dark. Melissa's violation of Dess's mind and the shameful revelations of her past deeds have shattered the uneasy bond among the five teenagers. What they need now is some time to heal, but what they get is the surprise of their lives when the blue time arrives in the middle of the day. It seems the walls between the secret hour and real time are crumbling, and soon the dark creatures will break through to hunt after centuries of waiting. And as if that wasn't enough for Jessica to deal with, her little sister, Beth, is becoming more and more determined to crack the secret of midnight - a goal that could have consequences more dire than she can ever have imagined.

5.0 out of 5 stars Blue Noon - leaves you wanting more!!, 12 Mar 2007
By R. Earl "dragongirl" (Bedfordshire, England) - See all my reviews

This is the third book in the series, I read the first 2 books and thought they were amazing, but the third one is even better, the storyline is full of suspense and kept me from putting the book down, the ending is a little sad but also hopeful and seems to be left open for the possibility of another book in the series, and it leaves you wanting another one, believe me.
I would recommend this book highly, if you like books like Harry Potter, Philip Pullmans books and things like Garth Nix, but even if you don't like these i still think you would love this book. definately try the series.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Grand Finale!, 24 Mar 2008
The third in this trilogy, this book has the high expectations of those who have read and loved its predecessors "The Secret Hour" and "Touching Darkness" to meet. Beginning with an instantly engrossing demonstration of Rex's new darkling characteristics, the storyline leaps incessantly from humour to thrilling, heart racing terror. During the novel, not only do the Midnighters have the constant threat of the darklings to contend with, but also the darklings' newly revealed human allies, the Grayfoots. As if that wasn't enough, midnight begins to expand, resulting in "midnight" occuring at seemingly random intervals during the day. Using this to their advantage, the darklings plan a huge massacre to regain their rule over the Earth, bringing the story to the ultimate battle. Along the way, the midnighters must find out more about their birthright, compensating for their lack of adult teaching and preparing for the ultimate threat- an infinite midnight.
This novel combines the darkness of a rapidly approaching threat with the humourous conversations between the midnight snd the seemingly lesser problems of family life. This combination of a bit of everything creates a strangely realistic fantasy world where the darklings almost seem to leap out of the pages of the book. It is definitely an essential book for absolutely anyone over the age of 12.
