Caroline Quentin is the main character in these series. She injects some humour into some pretty nasty crime stories but she, too, has dark moments. Her relationship with her straying husband and troublesome children cause her character much anguish.
The plots are well put together and the twists and turns as investigation progress keep your interest. Not exactly high octane entertainment but good solid police procedural drama.

Really enjoyed all the episodes - good acting - good plots, often with a twist at the end. You can't always predict the ending. Keeps you interested. Good balance between the crimework and family life - realistic. Caroline Quentin is very believeable in the role. Good value for money for all the episodes from series 1 to 5.

Terrific box set
