DVD Description

The Blue Murder - Complete Series 1-4 box set contains seven discs and all episodes from the detective series, in which Caroline Quentin stars as the lead role of DCI Janine Lewis--a single mother of four children, who juggles the demands of family life with her high-profile job. Blending the gritty, fast pace of murder investigations with the warmth and chaos of family life, Blue Murder provides a fresh take on modern day policing in contemporary Manchester. Lewis, who is passionately committed to her work and family, is back after maternity leave, separated from wayward husband Pete, and striving to balance the responsibilities of her career with the demands of her four children.

Other characters appearing on the show are DI Richard Mayne (Ian Kelsey), a self-assured and ambitious co-worker and close friend of Janine's; DCS Louise Hogg (Saskia Wickham), Janine's quiet but authoritative superior; DS Tony Shap (Nicolas Murchie), the street-wise copper who plays by his own rules; DS Ian Butchers (Paul Loughran), the diligent and reliable rival of Shap; and DC Lisa Goodall (Rhea Bailey), the quiet achiever who's looking to one day move up the ranks of the team.



Synopsis

Having returned to work after maternity leave, DCI Janine Lewis is striving to find a balance between the responsibilities of her high-pressure career and demands at home. Separated from her husband, Lewis attempts to bring up her four children alone, while at the same time dealing with the pressures of solving complicated murder cases.

I'm in the same boat with the reviewer above. Purchased Series 1 and 2 as soon as they became available and have been looking forward to subsequent series. No way will I re-purchase discs I already own in order to obtain the later series. A plea to Granada - please be so kind as to release Series 3 and 4 separately.

I AM IN THE SAME BOAT AS THE REST OF YOU: I BOUGHT SERIES 1 AND 2 OF "BLUE MURDER" (AND I HAD WATCHED IT PREVIOUSLY ON A CABLE CHANNEL - I LIVE IN EDMONTON, ALBERTA, CANADA) AND ENJOYED IT AS MUCH AS THE FIRST TIME. SO NATCH I WANT TO WATCH SERIES 3 AND 4 AND THE ONLY WAY I CAN DO THAT (APPARENTLY ACCORDING TO AMAZON IN THE U.K. - IT IS NOT AVAILABLE IN CANADA) IS IF I PUT OUT THE MONEY (DOLLARS) TO PAY FOR SERIES 1 AND 2 A SECOND TIME WHICH I THINK IS VERY UNPROFESSIONAL BUSINESS ETHICS. I AGREE THAT AMAZON OR SOMEONE HAS TO MAKE SERIES 3 AND 4 AVAILABLE SEPARATELY. THAT IS THE ONLY FAIR THING TO DO!!!

Are those people believing their customers are stupid? I own series 1&2, now they come out with 1-4. Do they expect me to buy that? Can I send 1&2 back for a credit? I miss here the possibility to buy 3&4 seperately. I'm a collector, I have 3000 titles (single onces and series) however I will kick out all those which are trying to do the same.
