Book Description

6 Mar 2008 Travis (Book 2)

Hardy Cates is self-made, charming - and determined to carry out his private revenge against the Travis family. So when he crashes a Travis family wedding, the last thing he expects is to find himself kissing his adversary Haven Travis in a dark corner. Hardy has done many things in his life he's not proud of, but now he's trying to rid himself of his roughneck past, which doesn't mean falling in love with a rival - no matter how beautiful she is.

Haven, likewise, vows to stay far away from Hardy. Having had her heart quite recently broken - and her body battered and bruised by the man she thought she had loved - she's through with men. That is, until she discovers that the temptation of a tender-hearted, blue-eyed devil is hard to resist. And then, when a menace from Haven's past appears, Hardy may be the only one to save her. . .

5.0 out of 5 stars Favourite shelf book! 19 Oct 2011
By Kat
Format:Paperback
Let me start by saying that these books just get better and better! Just when I thought that Sugar Daddy was an amazing story, Blue-Eyed Devil has blew me away completely!

Having had her heart quite recently broken - and her body battered and bruised by the man she thought she had loved - Haven Travis is through with men. Until she discovers that the temptation of a tender-hearted, blue-eyed devil, Hardy Cates, is hard to resist. Hardy is an old enemy of the family and Haven knows best to stay away. But that's not how Hardy was brought up and he never lets go of what he wants, and this time he wants Haven.

Hardy is a man to die for! He's confident, gorgeous and rich! But what makes me love him even more is that he has achieved everything on his own. He wanted to be successful and he worked hard to get there. His determination was incredible. But behind it all he still needed to be rescued by Haven. They were perfect for each other. Wouldn't you be happy to know you found the man you can rely on in the worst of the circumstances and be confident that he will help and understand...everything. Hardy was that man!

Haven is an amazing character! It hurts to think what she went through and still came out a normal woman after all. Some people can live their whole life and never know what it's like to be hurt, but for Haven just two years of her life have turned into the worst nightmare from which she wanted to but was scared to death to get out. Being in a violent relationship is probably one of the worst and most traumatic experiences for a woman to go through. You would have to learn to trust people again, especially men, to let them into your life and try to be normal, when all the terrifying memories of your past can still haunt you forever.

5.0 out of 5 stars could'nt put it down 13 Nov 2010
Format:Paperback
This was one of the best books i have in some time. It is the 2nd in the serires and this book made she cry and laugh. Haven and Hardy story is beauitful. Haven we learn goes though a violent marriage , so on returning back to her family she meets Hardy who she had met a few years earlier. As there relationship begin and devlops the story is a beauitful written and when it ends you just want to pick it up and start again. This story stand alone on it only or as part of the triogy. If you read it frist , you will then want to get the other two. Sugar Daddy and Smooth Talking Stranger. Three better books I ahve not read in a long time.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great read, kick back and enjoy it. 2 Jun 2009
By Izzy
Format:Paperback
If you can, do read the first book Sugar Daddy to be come familiar with all the characters. However, this book I read some time after Sugar Daddy and had forgot most of the story.
I picked it up and was riveted by it, for me it's a book that I didn't want to end. Most of Lisa's books have that quality about them this is no exception. Her characters in this book are engaging and like/ love able. Her hero, you kind of want one yourself (but I know and you know that men like that rarely exist in real life).
Hardy Cates turns from a surly, rude, dangerous roughnecked Texan into a surly, rude, dangerous roughnecked knight in shining amour. Be still my beating heart...The book made me cry (books rarely do that to me). Add it to your to be read pile for your summer holiday, just kick back and enjoy. A really well rounded book, easy to read, no commitment needed, pure escapism. Lovely.

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVELY COMTEMPORARY 8 Mar 2010
Format:Paperback
Lisa Kleypas has created a new world of contemporary romance and I'm loving it.
From Sugar Daddy to Blue-Eyed Devil and to the recent Smooth Talking Stranger....every one of them is a page turner.
I wont give out any spoilers but I will say that for this book, Hardy redeems himself from the man we thought him to be in Sugar Daddy, read Sugar Daddy first then read Blue Eyed Devil; you certainly wont be disappointed.

I hope she gives us the last of the Travis family contemporary...I cant wait.
