Product Description

Raised by Father Fujimoto, a famous exorcist, Rin Okumura never knew his real father. One day a fateful argument with Father Fujimoto forces Rin to face a terrible truth - the blood of the demon lord Satan runs in Rin's veins! Rin swears to defeat Satan, but doing that means entering the mysterious True Cross Academy and becoming an exorcist himself. Can Rin fight demons and keep his infernal bloodline a secret? It won't be easy, especially when drawing his father's sword releases the demonic power within him!

About the Author

Manga creator, writer and illustrator Kazue Kato was born in Tokyo on July 20, 1980. In 2000, at age 19, she won the prestigious Tezuka Award for her work Boku to Usagi (Rabbit and I) published in Akamaru Jump. From 2005 to 2006 her series Robo to Usakichi, a sci-fi adventure featuring a rabbit (again!) was published in the monthly magazine Shonen Sirius (Kodansha). Her latest series, Blue Exorcist, began in Jump Square in April of 2009. Kazue Kato has used a rabbit as a self-portrait in her author's notes since her debut, and her titles often have some relation to rabbits.

I read the first volume and as soon as i finished it i read it again and ordered this one.
Its truely is an amazing series so far, you just want more!
Everyone i told about it loved it. I wish the 3rd volume was out now!
The artwork is still awesome too.
The storyline is consistant with surprises and twists. It can be dark and bloody sometimes but that just makes it better!

Still good 17 July 2011
By Tsurera - Published on Amazon.com
Ao no Exorcist aka Blue Exorcist Vol 02 still holds onto the things vol 1 did right.

- The art is lovely to look at and conveys the story very well.
- The characters are still likable and not so outrageous like some series.
- It reads well/flows smoothly. I'm never left looking at a panel trying to figure out what the hell I'm seeing.
- The story is interesting.
- On a technical note, I like how viz really prints out the ink nice and black. It's pleasing to my eye.

The end of Vol 02 left me wanting more. I still highly recommend this series.
Keeps a Good Pace with Some Unique New Characters 10 May 2012
By Tsuyoshi - Published on Amazon.com
Actually, the story gets a bit slower, but is still interesting, in the second volume of "Blue Exorcist," Kazue Kato's hit comic about a 15-year-old boy Rin Okumura, the child of Satan. There are more characters, more combat scenes and more secrets arrive (with one of the school's instructors who seems interested in Rin's uncanny abilities more than necessary), but not much happens that will propel the larger story about Rin determined to pay a visit to his father someday.

The second volume (that consists of four chapters) spends considerable pages on introducing some of the important supporting characters including Ryuji Suguro, nicknamed "Bon," who looks like a teenage delinquent but is actually a smart and serious student, and Izumo Kamiki, an intelligent and strong-willed (read "tsundere") girl, whose bossy attitudes are perhaps a means of covering up her insecurities.

It is an entertaining read with likeable characters and nice artworks, but, as is the case with most Japanese comics, you have to read the entire series from Volume 1 to fully appreciate the series' merits. Also, in English edition, you might be missing the meanings of some characters' names written in kanji letters (Izumo Kamiki means literally "divine tree of Izumo, land of ancient gods").

The second volume is an enjoyable ride as the first one, with more emphasis on characters you can relate to.
Great Storyline For Book 2 19 Mar 2012

Great Story.
A Lot of Drama.
Non Stop Action.
Awesome Illustrations.

Overall 4.75/5.00 : -0.25 for the world bubbles again. kinda confusing. some word bubbles were kinda far from the person who was saying them, i.e: Page 86 last scene... kinda confusing at first.

but that criticism is a tiny one... still loved the book.
