I read the first Blotto and Twinks adventure and loved it. Pure escapism...a book to snuggle down with and forget all about recession, depression, reality. I didn't think that the second book could live up to the first but it's surpassed it. It's a heartwarming, uplifting, totally daft, highly amusing, jolly good romp that left a warm glow long after I'd turned the final page. Simon Brett's humourous observations are a delight and so are his characters. Completely over-the-top though they may be, I found myself getting rather fond of the hero and heroine. But I'm still not sure what happened to Blotto's favourite and second favourite cricket bats...
