Beautiful 4 Jun 2011

This is a really beautiful book, with lovely illustrations, which is perfect for a gift. The stories are a perfect length for bed time - although the endings aren't always as I would expect!

It is NOT what you think 19 April 2012
By Mom of 3-yearl-old - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
I borrowed this book from local library and was ready to introduce some classic fairy tales to my 3 year old girl. While I was reading out loud to her at bedtime, I was astonished to find out that the familiar happy ending stories are altered to be bloody violent stories that can easily cause nightmares -- both Little Red Riding Hood and her grandmother were eaten up by the wolf, there is no rescue. Henny Penny's friends' heads were snapped off by the fox, Cocky Locky was bit twice because the first bite wasn't enough to kill him. In Three Little Pigs, the pig cooked the wolf and ate him up... I had to make my own ending for her. What a disappointment! The book title is misleading. It is not for young kids that's for sure.
