4.0 out of 5 stars a great book, really different and well written!, 20 May 2000
By A Customer
I think this book is great, it isn't just a normal boring acount of day-to-day life in the 1950's. It makes you think about how life was then and you can really identify with Ruth the main charactor, and you feel for the whole family when her Dad dies! Definitly worth a read, especialy if your into history and a compelling read!

4.0 out of 5 stars The teenagers of the 1950's..., 3 April 2000
By A Customer
This book is about two sisters growing up in a large house in the country and trying to meet boys of their own age. It is quite funny and humors itself, and it is very interesting. It is great to read after a really heavy book where you had to concentrate as it is quite light but still very good, and not a usual teenage love story. It has an oringinal story line and it's easy to connect with the main character Ruth, even though her experiences are quite different from ours today!
