2nd book into the Jack Daniels, first one being "Whiskey Sour". Jackeline Daniels is a Detective, together with her Partner Herb must solve a murder case which starts with two arms being found in the Police Morgue, extra arms that is...one with Jack Daniels cuffs still on. Jack and Herb must piece together the bits and find whom is responsible. Jack not only has to deal with her Partner Herb, who is having a midlife crisis, her mother becoming frail, her boyfriend wanting more but her X Hubby turns up, just to complicate matters...as well as solve the case and bang up the the Psychopath involved. No guessing who it is, as I guessed early on, its not the catching part that was fascinating, but the banter between her trying to keep a lid on everything that is going on around her I found intriguing.
The author just keeps adding things into this book to keep the reader glued to each page, for example, the demonic cat who hates and claws and bites everything! Jack somehow manages to juggle them in a variety of ways. I liked the way the author ties up the missing pieces at the end of the book, leaving a fresh page for book 3. 4 Stars again! ty nice read, well balanced out. (Contains Gore Scenes....its not all roses!)

This is the first Jack Daniels mystery that I read and I loved it.
The dialogue between Jack Daniels and her partner Herb is a scream. Herb and Jack are great friends and never let Herb's incessant supplier of donuts and mexican food get between them. This is a rollicking ride as they hunt a twisted killer and finally nab the bad guy. Lots of fun and a darn good read.
A fun read with a bit of twisted psychopathy thrown in. Fans of Jack Kerley and Janet Evanovich will love this murder mystery

Really enjoyed this book,first one I've read by this author.Thought Jack was a great character, and the villain was chilling, and I couldn't second guess what was going to happen next,for me it was a real page turner, and I'm delighted to have found another author I really like,looking forward to reading more of his work now.
