Book Description

Stephen King has said of Christopher Smith:  "Put me down as an enthusiastic Christopher Smith fan.  Smith is a cultural genius."

Definition of "Bloodline" -- "A sequence of direct ancestors especially in a pedigree; also Family, Strain.

Three novels.  Three intense family sagas.  All international best-selling thrillers filled with page-turning suspense, twists and intrigue by Christopher Smith.

Each book includes families targeted for death.  All are under great strain.  Who will survive?  If you know Smith, it won't be a cliche.  Everyone is up for grabs.

"Bloodline" includes Christopher Smith's celebrated novels "A Rush to Violence," "Fifth Avenue" and its sequel, "Running of the Bulls."  For the first time, all are packaged together in "Bloodline," in what amounts to a bloody, suspenseful read for readers.

Total pages:  Over 1,000.

Mr. Smith better be writing his little heart out for #2 in this Marty Spellman trilogy as this is his best yet.  Smith's writing and timing are so good that you don't even know you are holding your breath until it is time to hold it again. This is so much more than a page turner - this is a stop everything because nothing is going to happen until I can finish this book. Smith's characters are easy to like and well developed enough that you feel as if they are your friends - that is a writing gift. Even the characters who aren't very likable are written well enough to be understandable in their actions.  This is an exciting and fun thriller that doesn't stop until the very end with a lead character, Marty, who you will wonder about until the next book is published. It doesn't get much better than that.

Smith is this generation's Master storyteller. If you're a fan of suspense thrillers and unbelievable twists and turns, you will quickly become a fan of Christopher Smith! He entices you to fall in love with his characters only to be caught totally off guard when their fate goes in a direction you never saw coming.  I can honestly say that I spent way too many late night hours reading chapters because I could not put it down and couldn't wait to see what he would do next. Starting with Fifth Avenue, he builds such entertaining and deep characters that you know this cannot be the end but just the start to future stories interweaving these strong individuals. With Running of the Bulls, you're so caught in the action - that you're honestly rooting for the characters that would historically be the bad guys in other tales. Christopher seems to set the bar higher and higher for himself, and I can't wait for his upcoming releases in 2012. A definite must read for mystery, suspense, and thriller lovers!

"Fifth Avenue, the first novel by penned Christopher Smith, is a fantastic first effort and was the reason I was simply unable to put my Kindle down over this Christmas period. And I would go as far to say that it ranks as one of the best first novels I've ever read."--PLANET KINDLE

"Fifth Avenue. A big, big novel. A blockbuster? Yes. A bestseller. It should be. The author, at the beginning of the novel, thanks the people who introduced him to the 'real' Fifth Avenue. I suspect the real one could not be as interesting or engrossing as this novel. ...This is a highly recommended novel. It deserves the five stars." -- P.M. RICHTER

"Christopher Smith did it again. This book is packed with suspense, and delivers both characters that you will love and loathe. A time or two near the end, I found myself actually on the side of the villains and I really hope those two show up in Park Avenue. Well written, well planned."

5.0 out of 5 stars Slick and Sylish Series 5 Mar. 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Christopher Smith's box set of exquisite thrillers really makes your spine tingle with delight.
In each individual novel his characters are so vividly and strongly built that they would be easily recognised if spotted in a very plush hotel bar in Manhattan. Even if seeing them meant that you would travel in the opposite direction to avoid their devious character traits!
The stories contain as many twists and turns as a corkscrew, leaving you to constantly guess where the next chapter will lead you. The consequences are often not as expected however, although always reaching a satisfying end.
Each story is interwoven with the style and panache that Smith does so well. Each volume is compelling, leading you almost seamlessly from one book to the next, before reaching the rewarding conclusion.
A notable series of books which will, undoubtedly lead this author as a major luminary in the world of thriller writers.
I give one cautionary note, however. Do not read these books unless you have at least several hours of unplanned time ahead of you, because once the journey in Fifth Avenue has begun, it is difficult to come back to reality until the final page is reached!

5.0 out of 5 stars Can't put my Kindle down! 30 April 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I was drawn right into all three books from page one. With all the twists and turns in the stories, I couldn't put it down, and at times ended up reading until 2am! Characters do things that you don't expect them to, and things happen to characters that you also don't expect to happen.

If you want to be totally engrossed in something, then buy this collection. You won't be disappointed!

5.0 out of 5 stars A rollercoaster ride of a lifetime! 3 Mar. 2012
By Bekki - Published on
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Christopher Smith has done it again! I found myself thoroughly enjoying the group of characters in these novels but as soon as I thought I knew what was coming up, I was left utterly dumbfounded by the series of twists and turns that came about. Christopher can bring life to an amazing cast of characters, a private investigator, a couple of hitmen, a trio of psychics, and some important people in positions of power, that you end up loving and hating at the same time, riveting plots that make you feel trusting of a character and then become suspiscious of them questioning their intent. I enjoyed Fifth Avenue immensely and it kept me on the edge of my seat at all times. After reading Running of the Bulls, which I couldn't put down, it left me breathless and excited about what was around the corner. The ending leaves me excited of what is to come in his next novel.

Christopher Smith's books will capture your attention and will be relentless in keeping you entertained from the first page until the last page. I am enjoying this ride of a lifetime and am anxious to see what he will come up with next!

5.0 out of 5 stars New Favorite Author for Me 4 Mar. 2012

Christopher Smith is a new author for me and is definitely a favorite author now. I will be reading more of his books. I loved this set. 5th Avenue pulled me in from page 1 and kept me there through that book plus all the pages of Running of the Bulls. I love books like that. I can't wait to read Manhattan with Love and will be anxious for Park Avnue to come out so I can read it too.

5.0 out of 5 stars One word, WOW 4 Mar. 2012

I don't give too many 5 Stars but Christopher Smith has earned everyone of them. After reading the Bullied series, I swiftly put him at the top of my favorite authors list and with the 5th avenue series, he proves he deserves to be there! I was hooked immediately! If you love suspenseful drama with some thriller and rollercoaster plot twists that move along at a fast pace, then you'll love this series or any of his series!

4.0 out of 5 stars Suspense from the get-go... 4 Mar. 2012
By Kindle Customer - Published on
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Having discovered Christopher Smith through is "Bullied" series, I decided to see what else he had up his sleeve....I normally don't read this particular genre of fiction, but after the "in your face" style of "Bullied", I dove in. Much to my pleasure, "Fifth Avenue" blasts out of the gate with excitement and action from the "get-go". "Fifth Avenue" doesn't start out with endless descriptions and details to set the back story; rather, you, the reader, are thrown into the action immediately, and from there, the picture begins to build and take shape as the story progresses. Likewise, he does not lead you by the hand with preconceived notions of whether you should like the characters or not; that is for you to decide as you delve further into the intrigue being delivered. I found that several of the characters spurred a feeling of mistrust, even dislike in me, and that isn't a bad thing. I had read several reviews where it was stated that the characters were not "likeable". Well, in my opinion, "Like" and "Dislike" are two ends of the same emotion, and to dislike a character is every bit as validating as liking a character. Leana is a character that evokes many feelings: dislike, mistrust, even pity at times for her "acting out" type of behaviour. The multiple story lines and plot developments continue to unravel and wind themselves around each other throughout the book, and by moving back and forth from one to another from varying points of view keeps it fresh and exciting. The conclusion (not really a conclusion...more yet to come!) leaves you with a feeling of unease and curiosity at just where this will all end up. I enjoy a book that leaves me wanting for more, and isn't that the point after all? Aside from some typographical errors and a few ommitted words (nothing that a once 'round with an editor or a college English major with some spare time on their hands couldn't remedy...). All in all, well deliverd, hard hitting and fast paced, yet developed enough to flow cohesively to it's (cliffhanging) end. (And in response to some of the reviews that mentioned "gratuitous sex scenes" and "over the top violence"...let's face it. This is a book written for adults, and I did not find it to be too racy or violent.)

3.0 out of 5 stars Ok, but could be better 26 Mar. 2012
By Andrea - Published on
Format:Kindle Edition
The story lines were interesting enough, but I kind of felt like there was not a lot of character development in "Fifth Avenue". Every time I got to know a character, they died. I had to force myself to finish reading the series because I found myself losing interest. Also, there were too many errors in the book. I can overlook grammatical, but not plot/people errors. It's not a bad read, but I will not be reading these books again.
