This wonderful audio book is brilliantly read by Richard Mitchley, who really does a fantastic job in bringing all the characters to life. This will entertain both adults and children and was frequently used by my parents as a rather effective method of getting me to bed when I was little. Now 19, these tapes still make me laugh. The story is simple and engaging, with enough twists along the way to keep everyone interested. I couldn't recommend anything any higher than this. Buy it while you can still find it!

A wonderful magical book which appealed to me at the age of 8 and still appeals at 21! 'Blood and Thunder' is a tale of two children sent by their parents to the Unexpected School on Hurricane Peak in the hope that the school will end the childrens' 'blood and thunder' tendencies. Instead it simply involves them in an adventure to out-smart the baddies in a place where science and magic meet. Recommended for people trying to get a tale which is as magical as Harry Potter or Wynn Jones' 'Howls Moving Castle' but want a shorter read and pictures. Perfect for those who love and hope for happy endings!
