What would you do if you were born to be a predator? Would you fight your natural instincts or give in to your nature?

Eden is a soul eater closing in on her Awakening. Her family has convinced her that soon she will have to take a life in order to save her own. It’s a decision Eden doesn’t want to deal with even as her hunger for souls grows stronger every day.

To complicate her impossible position, new guy in school Noah Valois’ determination to befriend her puts Eden in touch with a humanity she’s never known. Addicted to his company, his friendship and affection, she becomes more and more terrified that giving into her hunger will mean losing him forever…

… But when she discovers that Noah is not what he seems, his betrayal forces her to face two choices. One will offer her revenge and the destruction of a boy she loved. The other may offer her a life of eternal redemption…

A definite suprise 11 Aug 2011

I have to say i pretty much measure anything from the supernatural area against Charlaine Harris' Sookie books - which is probably unfair, but hey, they are the best.
This book was something i thought i'd simply read and enjoy but the more i read, the better it go and I am officially hoooked and waiting for whatever day this month the second book in the series is supposed to be released!
I liked the relationship she has with Stellan, Ryan and her love/friend interest... Her emotions were realistic, without being so over the top like some authors tend to do just to express the characters feelings and situation.
I don't want to say anything more - the other reviewer has told enough of the gist of the story without giving away anything and summed it up nicely.
I really enjoyed this and for the bargain price of 86p!

Great New Series! 2 July 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
Blood Will Tell is the latest novel of Samantha Young's that I've downloaded and she doesn't disappoint. The first novel in the Warriors of Ankh series is told from two perspectives - Eden, the soul eater, and Noah the Ankh Warrior who is supposed to hunt souls. However, Eden is different and Noah has been sent in to determine if she's different enough to save. I loved the character of Eden, she's quite a contrast to other heroines in the genre. She's really quite snarky and wicked sometimes but she is so complex and so likeable at the same time and I thought her struggle with who she was, was really well-written. Noah is just cool. I loved how involved he got with Eden and I loved their relationship, it wasn't predictable and it was left kind of up in the air so I really want to read the next one to see what happens. There's plenty of action in the book, and the narrative is funny and addictive. There are also some really creepy elements to it that I really enjoyed. I've said it before but I just love that so far Samantha's books haven't been repetitive.
Loved it! Quickly becoming a massive fan of this indie author. Can't wait for Blood Past, Book Two!

Fantastic story! 12 Jan 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I'm 14 years old butI don't often read and I definately didn't think I was into the whole supernatural thing. However, I read this in 3 days!! I absolutely loved it and I'm now onto the third and final book in the series. The story was so gripping and it's definatley one that's going to get re-read... I think you would enjoy it whether supernatural books are your thing or not.
P.S. the second (blood past) and third (shades of blood) are brilliant too!
