Brilliant read 22 Mar 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I have had this book downloaded on my kindle for some time now, but not got round to reading it. I started it on Monday and it is a really gripping, well written story - i am already invested in the characters and can't stop turning the pages so to speak (what will happen to that phrase now 'page turner' in these kindled up times!) I know it's a great book, because i'm only half way through and i've already googled to see if this is part of a series so that i'm not going to be disappointed once i've finished this one. I'm not a fan of the Twilight rubbish - i'm more of a Tru Blood person - this is properly written fiction for those of us who love a fabulously clever and intriguing story. Love it.

You have to give this author 5 stars for originality. I'm a die hard vampire genre fan - but this one definitely put fresh teeth into the necks of the readers. The pace was excellent, the men broody and delectable, the fact that they don't feed on women was a surprise (maybe I've been watching too much True Blood?) The Dark Kind are my kind - loved them!

This is more than a vampire story, it's a thriller with a bit of humour and politics thrown in.

Gripping and highly recommended

Superb vampire tale 18 Mar 2010
Format:Paperback
An ancient society of vampires, called Dark Kind, hidden from view for centuries, are forced to take sides in the greatest ever human conflict, as the human world tears itself apart in the first half of the 20th century. This just leaves all other vampire stories trailing. A riveting and compelling read.
