Album Description
LostAlone. Without question the most sensational rock band to come along since.....Queen. The songwriting defies description. There is NOTHING out there either like this or this good. Get in early.
About the Artist
Returning from a self imposed exile in February 2005 with a heart full of melodies and head ravaged with ideas Steven Battelle took the first bold steps into what has now become the UKs most exciting new band. Awaiting his arrival was long term collaborator in rock Mark Gibson, the very rhythm on which this new bands foundations would be laid upon.
Within two months they had completed a UK tour with Japanese lunatics Electric Eel Shock, been flown out to Germany to play a showcase and recorded the Light the Waves EP, which sold out its limited run during said tour.
Completed by Bass illusionist Tom Kitchen the band set to work on honing and defining the melody flowing from Battelles aching head. As the Melody nightmares became more frequent the output was more ferocious in volume and soon paid off when the bands number one choice to document these ideas made contact. Gil Norton, producer of such legends as PIXIES, FOO FIGHTERS and current heroes JIMMY EAT WORLD came and spent a few magical days with the band in their hometown and a creative partnership was instantly apparent to both parties.
Without time to relax the band hit Europe again, this time to play the main stage at the Bochum Total festival in Germany in front of 35,000 people. The band were in their element and the true performer in Steven Battelle stepped up and took charge like few others can.
With the promise of extensive work with Gil Norton in the New Year to look forward to and the inability to sit back and rest, the band set about recording their debut single. The obvious choice was fan favourite Blood is Sharp and the band took two days with producer Matt Ellis to complete. A raucous slab of pop melody set in the macabre desert of hopelessness with a hint of light at the end of the tunnel, is how its author described the single, and who can argue with that?
The icing on the cake came when acclaimed directors Dan Cadan and Rupert Murray jumped on board to make the promo video. Filmed in front of a hysterical live crowd it was the direct communication and respect between the band and their fans which was a marvel to watch. Day two had the band coming into their own as performers with all three relishing the chance before them. With Blood is Sharp set to be released, LostAlone will be celebrating their first birthday. By birthday number two the whole world will be celebrating with them.
