Don't bother with this one, just pretend it never happened and move straight on to Skin Trade!
The three whole lines of actual plot that you need to know about are reiterated in Skin Trade, so don't worry about missing anything.
Anita's character changes into some kind of "Uberslut" for this one, the plot is thin, and Richard gets annoying to the point where I actually shouted "oh for Heaven's sake just SHOOT him!"
If you like porn on the other hand....sigh, in fact, come to think of it, if you do like that sort of thing, go buy a Black Lace book, and if you like Lycanthrope porn, go buy Sherrilyn Kenyon! (The "one with Vane and Bride") - just save your money when it comes to Blood Noir - really, it's not worth the effort of turning the pages.

thank god . . this series may well be worth reading again, with all the sex (which as a hetero male is never a bad thing) finally having some relevance to a plotline . . . more action . . more thought of all the quite wonderful characters . . . more more more!?!"£$%

As a huge fan of thise series initially, I look forward to the publication of these books with excitement but the last few have been little more than Laurell K Hamiltons sexual fantasies and this one proves no different!

There is little plot to speak of, the characters have no depth and I'm sorry but I just can't get excited about a story that takes place within the confines of a hotel room!

Anita is a necromancer; a zombie queen, yet in this story, there is no mention of the talents she holds in her own right. The story is so divolved of the original plot and story lines, in my opinion, you might as well read a Mills and Boon!

What has happened to Larry (remember him??) who we haven't heard of in an age? And has Anita completely forgone her own career or that with Dolph and Zerbrowski in favour of an orgy with what amounts to no more than a bunch of animals?

In my opinion, this series has had it's day and it's time for Laurell K Hamilton to move onto something different with a new premise that actually has more mileage.
