Product Description

From amazon bestselling author Brian Springer comes an action-packed thriller with just a hint of romance:

Jessica Robbins created a vaccine that could cure the human race of one of our most deadly diseases. And what did she get for it? Picked up by a secret government agency and locked away in a safehouse. And the vaccine was squashed as though it never existed.

Enter vigilante-for-hire Greg Kelton. He's hired by an old friend to rescue Jessica but the operation goes awry. Now Kelton's on the run with Jessica stuck to his hip and an ever-increasing bevy of government agents hunting them.

As the noose tightens and they have to take more desperate actions to stay a step ahead of the government, the bond between them tightens, forcing Kelton to face a past that has left him a fractured, wounded man in order to expose a conspiracy that could change the world as we know it.

Combining the fast-moving style of Lee Child's Jack Reacher series with the complex relationships of Dennis Lehane's Kenzie and Gennaro novels, this action-packed thriller explores the darkness residing within us all, the demands of the past upon the present, and the price of doing the right thing, regardless of the consequences.

ALSO INCLUDES BROKEN HIGHWAY, A SHORT STORY FEATURING FORMER NAVY SEAL THOMAS HIGHWAY.

Mystery and Intrigue 14 Nov 2011
By Donna McBroom-Theriot - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
This book is full of mystery and intrigue, manhunt, capture, and escape, where the good guys aren't always the good guys. The book was well written and engaging with a surprise ending I didn't see coming; and when I say it was at the end, it was literally a few pages in from the end of the book.

The characters were believable and it was obvious the author had done a lot of research into government agencies in order to make the plot pliable. I loved everything about the book. The plot was so well written that it left you believing one side of the story and then the other side. I went back and forth until the plot opened up and revealed itself and what a surprise.

Once again, I found myself intrigued at reading romance scenes written by a man. I am truly amazed at the ability of a man to write a love scene, and only because I have always read romance novels written by women. In my opinion, women all know how to write love and romance, but I sincerely say, "Welcome to the field of love and romance, men. Keep up the good work."

Good 29 April 2012
By Theresa - Published on Amazon.com

I would have liked this story better had Kelton not been so weak and spineless around Jessica. Blech! I hated her...and the tears toward the end...I wasn't buying it. She could have just stayed the heartless b**** she was all along.

As far as the story goes, it was good and, at most times, unpredictable. I liked that.

"Outta the Park" 9 Aug 2011
By Robert Lee Carey, Jr. - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
Springer has done it again! He's guilty...no doubt about it...I know what I'm saying...yep, he's guilty of penning one of the best novels I've read in a long time. In only two days I completed his most recent thriller novel...and loved it!!! ("Highway to Vengeance" is also 'top shelf'".)
"Blood Money" will pull you in like a rip tide, and you'll only be freed...on the final page. (I see a sequel begging to be written.)
The main characters are so life-like, endearing, and will have you rooting for them...Kelton, Walter, and Jessica are 'top-notch'. The dialogue is perfect in every setting and scene. Pace is also 'right on'...just right, like zipping along a country road with the windows down on a spring afternoon doing 60 mph. Now, the plot...well, you don't want to be doing 60 mph. with that, unless you want to lose control in the sharp curves, twists, and turns...and I'd suggest you wear your seat belt, too.
Don't let the cover and title fool you...no, this story proves we shouldn't judge a book by the cover. Springer uses a newsworthy, realistic vehicle to move his story along, and everything else he throws into the mix is stuff we know goes on...every day.
Warning: take a few minutes after completion and close your eyes...take a deep breath, and then smile...because you've ridden and survived the 'coaster' of a great novel. And, you've met some great characters.
Brian Springer...as an author, I give you 'sandy' high-fives...and I want to write like you when I grow up. Keep smilin'...I am.
