3.0 out of 5 stars not their best 11 May 2005
Format:Audio CD
More generic noisy punk than signature Dwarves. It's a good album, but nowhere near as good as 'come clean' or '..are young and good looking'. Hasn't got the melodic content and musicianship of those albums. Don't buy this as your first Dwarves CD, get one of the above ones first ('...are young and good looking is my favourite)

5.0 out of 5 stars Fast, sleazy and absolutely awesome!!! 29 Jun 2001
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
This is one hell of an album. It contains all the sleaze i'v come to expect from the Dwarves and then some. 'F*** you up and get high' is one of the best punk songs i'v ever heard and has the most catchy guitar riff known to man. I can't really say much more than BUY IT!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Vile, repugnant, without redeeming social value 8 Aug 2005
By TimothyFarrell22 - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
Oh yeah, its also one of the greatest albums of the 90s, one of those CDs that must taunt Tipper Gore in her sleep. If it was as well known as 2 Live Crew, the PRMC would surely have gone on a campaign to have it banned. I remember when I bought this album when I was fourteen, a good year of my life was devoted to making sure my parents wouldn't discover it. Not so much for the lyrics, they probably wouldn't have done anything about that. Its the cover that would upset them. A classic pose (which the respectable folks at Amazon haven't displayed) of two naked chicks covered with blood and a little boy in the background holding what appears to be a bunny rabbit. This isn't a painting, but an actual photograph! As for the music itself, its so unbeleivably catchy. The lyrics are as offesive as anything GG Allin did (if not nearly as creepy), but its all done with a sense of humor (albiet a very very sick and deranged one most people won't appreciate). The vocalist Blag Jesus sings about statutory rape, how he wants to have sex (thats not the term they use) in the backseat of his car, and how he is angry at a girl who is afraid of AIDS. Yeah, its in really bad taste, but is a rocking and funny as hell. The "Surfing Bird" tribute in the middle of "Motherf^^ker" cracks me up everytime I hear it. The CD only lasts fourteen minutes with thirteen songs, and its always an adreneline rush when you listen to it. Try to sit still with this in rotation. As you can tell this isn't for everybody. If what you read interests you, you'll love this album. If what I describe in this review makes you sick to your stomach, the album will too. P.S., if you ever see these guys live, don't go to the bathroom, you'll miss their whole set!

3.0 out of 5 stars This album is only 11 minutes long 23 Aug 2004
By Ed Stokes - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
There should be 1000 punk rock albums like this but there's probably only like 80.

Pretty swinging for 240 beats per minute. They're talented enough to make longer songs -- try "Detention Girl", which would be a whole EP's worth of ideas for some bands -- but instead of building up to a resolution they just explode right out of the gate. And then it's over. Premature ejaculation rock, if you will.

Which leads us to the cover, which is the real reason this sold 50x as much as "Horror Stories". See if you can get the vinyl (the CD is 2 minutes longer, by the way). Better still the 4 foot square promo poster.

5.0 out of 5 stars Classic kick your ass punk!!! 10 May 2002
By Dominick - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
I picked this album up because I wanted to try something from the dwarves and it had a cool cover. When I listened to it I was blown away. 13 minutes of pure aggression and power. Few albums i've listened to are this raw and brutal. Great album but ONE WARNING!!! Some of the albums pressed are missing the last track which sucks but I still love it. I wish i knew what else the dwarves put out that's this good. A must have for any hardcore/punk fans.

5.0 out of 5 stars two thumbs up 16 Sep 1998

This is the long awaited reissue of the classic 1990 album of the same name. Contains some of the best raunchy punk of all time wrapped in the best cover art ever made. The Dwarves finest album. Hands down.
5.0 out of 5 stars This record changed my life 3 Jun 2001

Man, what to say about this album. You'll want it just for the cover art, but what's inside is even more special. THIS IS PUNK. The Dwarves are on a mission here, not the longest mission (this record clocks in at just over 13 minutes, making it shorter then even Squirrel Bait's 1st) but short and sweet is what punk's all about , anyway. Probably the standout tracks are "Back Seat Of My Car" and "Drug Store"; fast, ferocious, but still very melodic (but not in that lame pop sensibility way, like the Sex Pistols were melodic)(but the Sex Pistols certainly isn't a good comparison). WAY before all those OTHER bands started doing the 4-on-the-floor punk as FARK routine, there was the Dwarves, reinventing the form and making classic records. "Sugarfix" has perhaps better songwriting on it, but as a pure punk aesthetic you can't beat BG&P.
