Book Description

A COPYCAT OF THE MOST FAMOUS MURDER IN HISTORY...

A serial murderer nicknamed the Blood Dahlia has been terrorizing the quiet suburbs of Pennsylvania. Brutally mutilating his victims in the fashion of the most famous murder in Hollywood, the killer leaves no trace behind.

The FBI's elite Behavioral Science Unit, the section responsible for the study and investigation of serial murder, has little evidence to go on. Believing the killer to be beyond their reach, the agents in the BSU decide they must simply wait for the killer to make a mistake… until they meet Sarah King.

Sarah, a mysterious outcast of the Pennsylvania Amish community, claims she has a unique ability: she can speak to the dead. And the victims of the Blood Dahlia are calling out to her.

When the FBI enlists her help, special agent Giovanni Adami is skeptical of her abilities, but begins falling for the young woman. His feelings for her are clouded with his distrust of psychic phenomena, but as the Blood Dahlia grows in his barbarism, he knows the FBI has little choice but to explore every avenue available.

Whether or not Sarah can speak with the dead ultimately doesn't concern Giovanni. He is interested in results, and when Sarah begins providing some, he must question everything he knows about the world and his place in it. She is either the cleverest fraud he has ever met, or a true psychic with an unexplainable gift.

But when the Blood Dahlia takes an interest in Sarah personally, it will take every ounce of strength she has to survive. And as she prepares for him to come for her, she realizes that not everyone is what they seem…

Bit of a different take on a serial killer story, and one that worked really well I thought.

All a bit fanciful maybe and smacked of 'I see dead people' but it somehow worked and became 'believable'.

A winner in my eyes.

I really enjoyed this book, it was well written and the story had me glued to my kindle. Loved the psychic twist as made it a little different to the normal detective thrillers I've read. A great author with a slightly psychotic imagination, love it xxxx

5.0 out of 5 stars Definitely worth reading 14 Mar. 2014

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would recommend it anyone who likes crime and supernatural stories. After being banished by her family and their Amish community for being psychic, the heroine ends up assisting the FBI in their endeavours to catch a vicious serial killer. Although there is no string of clues or great mystery for the reader to solve it does refer to the real life Black Dahlia case a couple of times, and the fast pace and likable characters made it hard to put down.

Very enjoyable. Anyone who has read about the Elizabeth Short "Black Dahlia" will find this book interesting. A classic serial killer mystery with a subtle twist. The FBI is chasing the killer of young women who mutilates the victims in the manner of the "Black Dahlia". Th killer is being pursued by FBI agents including Sarah who was born into an Amish family but later cast out due to her ability to see and communicate with dead people.

4.0 out of 5 stars well written and that's coming from a psychic! 28 May 2014

As a person who can see and talk to the spirits I found it fascinating how realistic the whole process of describing how we see the spirits is done. Either very well researched or help from a friend? The latter most definitely. Nice chap too. Well done.
