This book starts out quite easingly but it moves at a very fast pace. Chapters are at most 5-6 pages long. The story spilts into two parts each chapter goes to the other part. For those of you that have not read the other books, the story goes that after the death of their father Grace and Connor take to the seas thrown apart each of them travels their own adventure. This is the forth adventure in the series. For Connor times aboard the pirate ship the DIABLO are at an all time high, that is until it turns upside down at the arrival of the Captain's brother and nephew aboard the Diablo. Captain Molucco Wrathe has not spoken to his brother for years but after the murder of their younger brother Porfirio wrathe the two decide to make amends. Unfortunately Wrathes obnoxious newphew Moonshine makes connor life absolute hell. When things reach a point where Connor cant cope anymore he flees to Cheng Li and forces Wrathe to choose between his newphew or Connor. Grace has other concerns she has to make the journey to Sanctuary with a woman who hates her and blames her for Lorcans blindness. But when she gets there she finds other problems to deal with. She meets a cowboy Vampire who falls for her and she takes a shine to him to. She also finds out she has special healers qualities and replaces an alredy jealous hard working rival. Near the end Lorcan heals and, when Grace security is threatened by Johnny the cowboy vampire, reveals his true feelings towards her. Grace chooses Lorcan but another problem arises the Captain of the vampirates is weakening and is overwhemled by rebels both aboard and off his ship. He collapses and Grace realises that it's going to take everything that she, Lorcan, Darcy, Mosh zu and Connor have to save him. But theres a deep dark secret and could the revealing of it be the end for the captain but a new begining for the twins?
