Just watched this on bluray. There's no extras or anything, just the movie. So you might as well buy it on dvd to be honest.
What a movie it is! Starring Michael Jai White as Bone. An ex con who on release from prison becomes involved in the world of illegal bare knuckle fighting if you would like to call it that. It's more of a freestyle martial arts underground scene going on.
He gets himself a fixer who finds fights for him and in the process he's earning some hard cash as well as carrying out a favour he promised a friend. . .
I'll say no more regarding the plot but the fight scenes are tight as hell! Kimbo Slice makes an appearance early on as does Bob Sapp who features a fair bit and Maurice Smith for anybody who knows their kickboxing. The baddie here is played by non other than Whinston, Eamonn Walker (the gay black guy) who was always comically winding Alf Garnett up in In Sicness and in health!
As for Michael Jai White, having studied several forms of martial art, his own style incorporates them all and this looks fantastic on screen. Some of the moves he pulls off are outstanding including a quadruple kick from a standing position to four different opponents! Even though obviously choreographed if you've ever studied any martial art you've gotta take your hat off to that scene. Some lovely, yes, lovely! floorwork demonstrated here too.
If you liked Bloodsport and Kickboxer well this is the modern day version I would say, but much better acting!
Give it a go.
Martial arts fans keep an eye our for Bob Wall (O Hara from Enter The Dragon) I couldn't believe it when I realised it was him. He's knocking on 74 nowadays!
