Product Description

Review

'Explosive and deadly . . . the prolific penman strikes gold again.' (crimesquad )

'A thrill-a-thon book that packs in more action than all three hit Bourne films rolled into one. This is Hilton's fifth Hunter adventure and he's motoring so fast he's coming up on the tail of Lee Child and stellar creation Jack Reacher. . . It's a wham, bam, bone-crunching treat!' (Alex Gordon, Peterborough Evening Telegraph )

'Matt Hilton has become known for his super-charged thrillers, and his latest Joe Hunter novel, BLOOD AND ASHES, is no exception. A nigh-on-constant hail of bullets, car chases and bone-crunching violence, the action starts on the first page and never really lets up . . . It's exhilarating, completely breathless and wildly enjoyable entertainment that flies off the page . . . Another brutally fast and brutally addictive novel from Matt Hilton. Ne'er-do-wells beware, Joe Hunter is coming for you!' (crimeandpublishingcom )

'BLOOD AND ASHES is a welcome addition to the series. Hilton has lost none of his flair for writing action scenes, which for me are one of the main attractions of the books. I don't think his fans will find this a disappointment. I certainly didn't.' (reviewingtheevidence )

Praise for CUT AND RUN:
'Matt Hilton delivers a thrill a minute. Awesome!' (Chris Ryan )

Thrill a minute! 29 July 2011
Format:Paperback
Definately a thrill a minute following Joe Hunter in his 'mission' - Blood and Ashes took me a few days to read, because not a word should be missed in this excellent work by Matt Hilton. A fast paced thriller - will read more of Hilton's work and look forward to reading what he writes in the future.

Matt Hilton writes the kind of fast-paced, electric prose that makes for the perfect escapist read. I loved this novel and the nail biting denouement inside the Statue of Liberty. The duplicity of the white supremacists and their desperation to create a race war opposed solely by Joe is brilliantly handled. Matt Hilton's stories are real page turners and if you want to just bury yourself in fiction that really does take you to another world, then this one is for you. His novels are getting better and better, he is a master of his craft and is head and shoulders above most of his competitors and what's all the more admirable, he's British!

I think Blood and Ashes is as good as the rest of the Joe Hunter books. This is light entertainment and not to be taken too seriously.A good book is one that you can't put down until you have finished it and Blood and Ashes ticks this box.Lighten up everybody and take this for what it is.I have read all the Reacher books and these are as good if not better.Keep writing Matt and i will keep buying.

Its Entertaining
If the object of a book is to entertain, the author did his job. He also does nicely in setting the scene and permits the reader to get a good vivid picture of the action. Read more

What?
I was lulled into buying this based on favourable comparisons to Lee Child. Not a chance. The writing and the hero seemed laboured from the beginning. Read more

Not his best
A look at the reviews will show a pretty mixed bag and I think that is fair. Hilton fans will love it but the more objective reviews will probably conclude its not his best. Read more

Still not there......
I have read all Matt Hilton's Joe Hunter books primarily because they are fast paced, easy reads. However, the character is a cross between Vince Flynn's, Mitch Rapp and Lee... Read more
