One of the great amazon deals!, 29 Jan 2012
This review is from: Blood And Fire (MP3 Download)
These two tracks will be on the album, "A Different Kind of Truth", of course. But if you buy these, then the cost is taken off the album, so why wouldn`t you? I happen to think "Blood and Fire", which recycles the bootlegged fan favourite EVH solo piece "Ripley", is absolutely fantastic, with a classic Van Halen feel - the perfect combination of swagger, musicianship, power, arrogance, call it what you want. Great vocals and lyrics from DLR. Brilliant, brilliant solo from Eddie.
"The Trouble With Never" is much heavier, with a wah-wah rhythm track, more of a grower than the first song, but it`s pure Classic Van Halen alright.
The other songs from the album are around on the internet, in 30sec or 90sec clips; these combined with "Tattoo", "Blood and Fire" and "The Trouble With Never" suggest that the Kings are back. Music, and music lovers, are lucky to have them.

Classic VH - who woulda thought ?, 1 Feb 2012

Ignore Van Hagar fans, this is the real deal. Could've come straight off 'Diver Down', there is only one VH and it's Roth-flavoured.
