'Ellen offers a convincing argument for the benefits of blogging for good mental health.' --SANE (UK Mental Health Charity)

Product Description

Blogging is the new black. Or so it seems. But blogging isn't about keeping in with the in-crowd or letting the world know what you had for breakfast. Believe it or not, blogging can be a real force for good in your life.

Blogging helped me find my way out from a particularly dark period in my life and this is my guide on how a blog can save your sanity. Covering the basics on how to start a blog, what to write about, how to get followers plus technical and design tips, 'Blogging for Happiness' looks at how a blog can actually improve your mental health, lift your mood, meet people, clear the air and even earn you some money. My blog has brought me new friends and new skills, but more importantly it has brought me positive mental health. It's fair to say I love my blog and 'Blogging for Happiness' will inspire you to log on, get going and love your very own blog.

5.0 out of 5 stars Essential reading for would-be bloggers! 22 Feb 2012
Format:Paperback
There are 'how to' books and books for dummies, books that detail your potential wealth and books that list technical tit bits that you'll have to master. But few 'how to' blog books seem grounded in the reality of day-to-day life, as lived by a great many bloggers. Few books deal with the realities of our motivation as well as the benefits of the support network blogging can provide. Blogging for Happiness does what the name suggests and does it in a grounded, practical way which draws on the expertise of some of the country's well-known bloggers.

5.0 out of 5 stars A 'Must Read' for all potential bloggers! 8 Jan 2012

A fascinating book which manages to both share the author's intensely personal experiences and provide easily digestible information on blogging. Ms. Arnison's captivating writing style, already familiar to her many blog readers (...), hooks you right from the first page and then keeps you interested throughout. As one who has only been a blog reader up to now I am seriously considering venturing into the blogging world!

4.0 out of 5 stars Very readable and valuable guide to blogging 7 Jan 2012
Format:Paperback
As someone new to blogging I found this book enjoyable and accessible. The author is generous with her own experience and encouraging of those tempted to test their own talents. I found I was both reassured I was approaching things wisely and encouraged to do and try more. I also learned new acronisms for twitter like LMAO... You'll have to read it if it's new to you to! I recommend it.
