This is my 5th Conrad Jones book..only two to go unfortunately..and I'm reading them one after the other. Every one sems to be better than the one before, and this one follows the trend! It's an absolute cracker.
As usual the author takes a topical and totally credible theme..in this case based on a factual situation..and takes the reader through a truly exciting ride, filled with twists and turns, always including a major 'I never saw that coming' piece of action.
'Tank' Tankerville is here to stay..indestructable but also strangely vulnerable in some situations. But a real, unforgettable action hero, whose exploits will cause you to read this book well into the night..its simply so difficult to put down.
For anyone reading this review who has not yet tried Conrad Jones' books, this particular one is a stand-alone story so can be read out of sequence. But to get the best out of it, and to really get 'into' the characters, I would urge you to start at Soft Target 1 and work your way through in sequence.
Conrad Jones' genius is in having the creative imagination to conceive of a story and to follow it through to its conclusion whilst holding the reader totally gripped. Its a talent not given to many and those of us who enjoy a good thriller can only be thankful that, at perhaps a later stage of his life than many authors, Conrad has felt able to share his story-telling skills with us all. These are books not to be missed.
