Product Description

We've combined the traditional tagine shape with deep Moroccan colours to produce a pot that is equally at home in the most rustic country kitchen or the chicest urban pad. The height of the pot keeps everything moist while it cooks, so you can make really tasty and authentic tagines, and the handles allow you to take it straight to the table with ease. This size will feed four.

"We are really excited to announce our range of kitchen products, proper quality gear created by the best designers in the country. Real equipment, for producing real food. The range is affordable and accessible, stylish and useful. The kind of bits and pieces that you think "Ooh, I would really like one of them". We have created the tools you need. They do the job properly and they look fantastic.

We have been inspired from our travels around the world and we've picked up some great bits - tagines from Morocco, pots and platters from Namibia, cazuelas from Spain, and spice and tiffin boxes from India. We have also found inspiration closer to home from our mothers, grandmothers, and past generations - great hearty casserole dishes, sturdy yet shapely jugs, traditional pie dishes, giant and weenie."

I was given one of these for Christmas and it cracked on first use despite using a diffuser as mentioned in the recipe book that was included. There were no instructions about seasoning the tagine so I assumed that was not necessary, perhaps I was wrong?

Mine cracked as well, sending lovely lamb, spiced juices and other expensive ingredients all over my newly cleaned hob.

I too used a diffuser, kept the heat fairly low (though the recipe called for me to 'bring to the boil and then simmer'), and followed the guidelines to a T.

Although I'm sad to see other similarly disappointed customers, I'm to some extent relieved to learn that the product was indeed faulty - as it surely must have been - and that there isn't some esoteric trick to cooking with tagines that I have not been made party to.

Interesting to note that the (only) 5 star review for this product has been made by someone who hasn't written any other reviews, and uses advertising copy such as 'succulent meals for all the family'...

Got mine for Christmas, so I don't know if I'll be able to get a refund.

Oh well, looks like it's a pot noodle for dinner. Thanks, Hairy Bikers! May your fraudulent empire shrivel and burn along with my organic lamb.

This was given to me and my girlfriend as a Xmas present. My girlfriend had already used it once, and cooked a delicious lamb dish in, although she had largely used it in the oven. It was my turn to use it next time, but my dish had to be cooked on the hob. I used the diffuser, and turned the hob onto low. The diffuser was clearly doing its job, because the butter in the tagine wouldn't even melt! I turned it up slightly (bearing in mind I had to brown duck in it, and at the moment it wouldn't even brown butter) - it was at this point that the tagine cracked! It was still on pretty low, and I was really annoyed with myself. I'd followed instructions to a tee. I was so relieved when I looked here and saw that others had had exactly the same problem. I think there must either be a problem with the diffuser or the tagine. I hope we're able to get a refund.
