4.0 out of 5 stars almost a perfect shamble, 6 Dec 2006
By Mr. J. T. Shinerock - See all my reviews

BLINDING: great catchy tune with some interesting lyrics and gritty guitar. (one of my favorites)

LOVE YOU BUT YOUR GREEN: This ones been knocking about as an acoustic number since the early days of the libertines. I think pete has done it justice with babyshambles.

I WISH: DIffiatly the best best track on the EP, instantly catchy and enjoyable to listen to. cheers me up, even though some of the lyrics are very dark. "i wish to god i'd just been stabbed"

BEG,STEAL AND BORROW: Heard this one on johnathan ross a while ago. i actually think the acoustic version is slightly better, but still a nice little tune.

SEDATIVE: Uplifting chorus, although pete lyrics are slurred and almost uncomprihenible it sort of adds substance to the track.

All in all a great EP by babyshambles. Best thing Pete has done as of recent, think hes trying to show the world hes not just a junkie waste of space and can actually produce sparks of genious when he wants to. I was slightly dissappointed by Albion but this EP has really made me fall in love with his music all over again. Even Started putting on old libertines records!

5.0 out of 5 stars What a little blinder, 27 Jul 2007
How good is this EP? Blinding.
The Blinding song is absolutely a raw mess, but under control. Also, the last track Sedative is a monster of a tune, devouring me and my whole family, but i broke free and listened to the EP again and again.
This Ep is a little peice of music gem for all Babyshambles, even Libertine fans too. It shows beyond a doubt that Doherty has gotten himself together and it firing on all creative cylinders.
He put thepipe down, and got that right sound. Ahmen, brother.

5.0 out of 5 stars 5 songs, all significantly different, 5 Dec 2006
By MA Baker "Coked up pansy" (Oxford, England) - See all my reviews

Good effort from Babyshambles, The Blinding and I Wish particularly good to listen to, and I like the way they have slowed down I Love You But You're Green - which I thought was a mistake at first but it grows on you part way through the song after the initial supprise.

Beg Steal or Borrow is great, although I prefer the accoustic version and that is well worth downloading if you like the studio version.

Sedative... jurys out on that one for the time being for me, seemed to drag the tone down a bit ad maybe would have been a better album filler rather than for a selective EP.

Just my early opinions though, and Pete will have his usual die hard fans and the people who want to see him fail. If you are one of the latter block the tabloids out and listen to the music, don't let journo's influence you... if you still dislike his music after that fair enough - at least it'd be for the right reason.
