About the Author

Bleach is author Tite Kubo's second title. Kubo made his debut with Zombie Powder, a four-volume series for Weekly Shonen Jump. To date, Bleach has been translated into numerous languages and has also inspired an animated TV series that began airing in Japan in 2004. Beginning its serialization in 2001, Bleach is still a mainstay in the pages of Weekly Shonen Jump. In 2005, Bleach was awarded the prestigious Shogakukan Manga Award in the shonen (boys') category.

5.0 out of 5 stars Arrancar vs. Soul Reapers, 26 Nov 2008
By T. R. Alexander (East Anglia, UK) - See all my reviews
(TOP 500 REVIEWER)    (REAL NAME)
The Arrancars are Hollows that have gained Soul Reaper powers and this twenty-third volume of Bleach sees these powerful monsters come to Karakura to eliminate anyone who could pose a threat to their plans.

This is a great action packed volume with some great fights and good humour. This is the first volume that shows how powerful the Arrancar can be as they pair off against the various Soul Reapers. Having said this, the volume concentrates mostly on two of the fights, the one between Rukia and the Arrancar D-Roy, and Ikkaku vs. the Arrancar Edorad Leones. Both these battles are excellently portrayed and show just how powerful both the Soul Reapers involved actually are. Rukia's dual is also of special interest because this is the first time she has fought with her powers intact since the very first volume of Bleach.

Bleach is a great series and this new story arc is proving to be as action packed and compulsive as ever.
