About the Author

Bleach is author Tite Kubo's second title. Kubo made his debut with Zombie Powder, a four-volume series for Weekly Shonen Jump. To date, Bleach has been translated into numerous languages and has also inspired an animated TV series that began airing in Japan in 2004. Beginning its serialization in 2001, Bleach is still a mainstay in the pages of Weekly Shonen Jump. In 2005, Bleach was awarded the prestigious Shogakukan Manga Award in the shonen (boys') category.

5.0 out of 5 stars New story arc kicks off! Things get very interesting! *GASP*!!, 21 April 2008
Oh wow!!!! New face on the cover!! The new story arc starts in this one!
To start with you get a nice 'tying-up-loose-ends' bit, with people recovering in Soul Society and having a bit of well deserved fun, and even a bit of closure for Rukia.
But its all change once Ichigo gets back home! Not much of a rest before some weird hyperactive guy turns up at school, Shinij. And he has his eyes on Ichigo for some reason...as well as some particularly unpleasant Hollow you may be familiar with.
And Ishida has plenty of his own problems to deal with. Plus there are some super shocks which you will have to read about (don't want to be a spoiler!!but oh my god so cool and shocking!!!). eeeeek! Its all very exciting, and its nice to see the elder generation get to put in more of an appearance!

All in all, the new arc starts off with a big swishing of Zanpakutos!! This series gets better and better in my opinion, with the art being consistently brilliant and the pacing and action shots spot on. If you haven't started Bleach yet, whats wrong with you!!!! Call yourself a manga fan!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good manga, 24 May 2009

Bleach is a series that I very much enjoy, It can at times be frustrating. Generally a good read though, well drawn and if you like individual characters an personalities, each with their own massive sword (zanpaku to) youll love this manga. Resonably priced not going to find it cheaper anywhere else, the delivery is always good not had a damaged issue yet. Recommend the manga highly, also the anime series is true to the original, although almost frame for frame in places if you've already read the manga.

4.0 out of 5 stars Back to the world, 26 Nov 2008
By T. R. Alexander (East Anglia, UK) - See all my reviews
(TOP 500 REVIEWER)    (REAL NAME)
The twenty-first volume of Bleach begins by tying up some of the loose ends from the previous volume and is something of a cool down volume before the next story arc kicks off in earnest.

The first half of the volume is quite light-hearted as everyone recovers in the Soul Society but once the main characters return to the world of the living things change with a mysterious new student in Ichigo's class and new enemies begin to reveal themselves.

This is a solid if not great volume of the series being somewhat slow to begin with but picking up somewhat towards the end. Having said this though, the twist towards the end of the volume is one of the most brilliant twists from the series so far and if it hadn't been for the slow start to the volume would have gained it five stars on its own. As it is however this volume is still as entertaining and the next story arc looks to be very interesting.
