About the Author

Bleach is author Tite Kubo's second title. Kubo made his debut with Zombie Powder, a four-volume series for Weekly Shonen Jump. To date, Bleach has been translated into numerous languages and has also inspired an animated TV series that began airing in Japan in 2004. Beginning its serialization in 2001, Bleach is still a mainstay in the pages of Weekly Shonen Jump. In 2005, Bleach was awarded the prestigious Shogakukan Manga Award in the shonen (boys') category.

5.0 out of 5 stars The final battle has arrived..., 4 Jun 2007
The final showdown of the Soul Society arc has arrived. Tensions heat up as Ichigo Kurosaki and Byakuya Kuchiki face off in an all out battle for SS! Meanwhile, elsewhere, Hitsugaya discovers the truth about a certain 'captain'..

One of my favorite volumes, which I think everyone should read!

5.0 out of 5 stars Ichigo vs. Byakuya, 5 Nov 2008
By T. R. Alexander (East Anglia, UK) - See all my reviews
(TOP 500 REVIEWER)    (REAL NAME)
This nineteenth volume of the Bleach manga concludes two of the fights that began in the previous volume. The Yoruichi/Soi Fan duel finishes in something of an anticlimax but on the plus side it does include some interesting back-story for Yoruichi. The Ichigo/Byakuya fight on the other hand is brilliant and shows just how far Ichigo has come in such a short time. The fight also raises some interesting questions for the future as to what Ichigo truly is and what he may be capable of in the future. The final chapter of this volume introduces a big twist and a cliff-hanger that could spread chaos throughout the Soul Society.
