This set of ten episodes for the Bleach anime concludes the Bount filler arc and I must say that it was a very enjoyable end.
With the Bount running amuck in the Seireitei, the Soul Reapers and Ichigo's group both move to take them out before they can cause any serious damage. The Bount aren't without a trick or two of their own though and they are not going to go down easily. Meanwhile Kariya sets into motion his own plans that could lead to the destruction of the Soul Society.
This was a very enjoyable set of episodes with some nice battles here and there. My favourite part has to be Captain Kurotsutchi's battle though as he is one of my favourite characters in the series and his zanpakutô, Ashisogi Jizô, actually proved useful for once. On the other hand the plot itself was somewhat of a let-down and the final end of the Bount arc ended up being a bit anticlimactic, but it was still enjoyable.
Despite the fact that these episodes are still filler, I would have liked to give this set a full five stars but there were some inadequacies that cause it to loose marks. As well as the trouble with the plot which I have already mentioned there were also too many cases of lazy and repeated animation, which was something of a disappointment.
Overall, I feel that if I were feeling generous then four and a half stars would be an adequate representation of this set, and the Bount arc as a whole. I am definitely looking forward to the next release for the Bleach anime though as we will return to the proper story with the Arrancar arc.
