3.0 out of 5 stars Shaping up to be epic but sloooowly.... 2 July 2011
By alex
So this is my review of bleach series 6 volume 2.After the dramatic events of the last volume i was genuinly excited to see the next 11 episodes. However i was left feeling slightly ripped off.Why you may ask?Well this boxset is misbalanced episode 121 starts with a bang as grimmjow ends his fight with ichigo. This is a great episode as bleach seems to be getting more and more epic.Unfortunatly that is the standout of this volume. The rest of the episodes consist of ichigo training to control his inner hollow.I liked these traiing scenes as they were humourous and intresting as we get to see more visoreds. My problem with this volume lies in the pacing of the show.At the start of each episode is a 2 minute introduction about soul reapers and arrancas, which i find unneccesary. Also, these later episodes have a tendency to reshow and reuse past clips from earlier episodes aswell as the same old backgrounds from season 1 eg ichigos inner world, the underground traing arena, the same deserted road always seen in karakura town....you get my drift. Finally what loses this a star is the forcefull and unwelcome inclusion of 4 filler episodes. These filler episodes are tedious and annoying....its like they didnt even try.Math time now if excluding the filler episodes i am getting 130 mins of canon material for 16pounds then that is not good value for money. It might seem in this review that i dislike bleach that is far from the case;i thought seasons 1 ,2 and 3 were all 5 stars out of 5.Not to mention that the impending war with the arrancars, orihimes character devolpment, ichigos eventual control of his hollow are all things that i am hugely looking forward too(so much so that i ordered series seven from region1 because it is out now in america). Thanks for taking the time to read this long review!

4.0 out of 5 stars Training 16 Jun 2011

Having survived their battle against the Arrancars under the command of the Espada Grimmjow, the Soul Reapers and Ichigo realise that they may not be strong enough to fight off Aizen's forces. While Chad trains with Urahara and Renji, Ichigo seeks out the Shinji and his Visored comrades so that they can help him control his Inner Hollow.

This volume of `Bleach' introduces a number of new characters in the form of the Visored. While they don't get much development here they do give us some of the better scenes in this volume with them being involved in some very funny moments. Ichigo's training to control his Inner Hollow is good and is extended from the manga version with some interesting scenes being added.

This volume also includes a brief filler arc that sees Hitsugaya, and his team hunting a strange Arrancar that appears to be after a pair of ghost children. While not great and somewhat predictable, this mini-arc is still reasonably entertaining.

The main problem I have with this volume is the incredibly spoilerific opening that begins playing in this volume that reveal some important plot elements that don't show up until later volumes. Other than this the volume doesn't have all that much wrong with it except for a habit to draw out and repeat things now and again while this doesn't get to the level that it gets to in series such as `Naruto' it doesn't do any favours for the pacing of the series.

This is another entertaining volume of the `Bleach' anime and while it probably isn't quite as good as the previous one it is still worth around four and a half stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars Huge bleach fan. 2 May 2013

Bleach for me just gets better and better so I love this dvd. However I feel the people down at viz need to cap their money grabbing ways and release it at decent times. Stop stalling the release to a point that we are years behind the actual series we read about. That simply causes pirating.
