HASH(0x8bb26468) out of 5 stars The Autumn Review for Blank Slate Kate 3 Dec. 2011
By The Autumn Review - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
This is the fourth book that I've read of Heather's and I'm always so intrigued to see what she comes up with next. None of her books are alike, but all fantastic! For all you series skeptics, even though this is part of the Toronto Series, you can easily pick up any one of the books and not be lost because, the characters aren't linked. In Blank Slate Kate, there are many twist and turns that make it exciting. You almost feel like you're playing a game of Clue! It makes you wonder what you would do if something like this happened to you. Would you keep your old life or would you look at it as an opportunity to start anew? There certainly were reasons and circumstances that ultimately helped Kate make that decision. If you are looking for a fresh, exciting, and thoroughly enjoyable read, get this book! This is definitely going into my favorites and will be a re-read.

HASH(0x8bbeefd8) out of 5 stars Abolsutely LOVED IT! 9 Jan. 2012
By Ananda - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
I absolutely LOVED every page of this book! I literally couldn't stop myself from reading it, though I was sure I would be very very sad when I finish it. What I loved the most about it is the fact I couldn't really predict where the story will lead me! It's a perfect chick lit book, intelligently written with characters you will definitely love! The mystery element got me absolutely hooked up and I just couldn't wait to find out which path will Kate (or is that Donna) choose. I assume it's too early to say this, since it's January and 2012 has just started, but I am absolutely sure about this - Blank Slate Kate is definitely one of the BEST books I read and will be reading in 2012! Mrs Wardell is an amazingly talented author, and I can't believe this is her 8th book written, but the first one I actually read. What was I doing all this time?? Anyway, one of my New Year's resolutions is READ ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING HEATHER WARDELL HAS WRITTEN SO FAR AND ANY BOOK SHE WILL WRITE IN THE FUTURE!
With absolutely no doubt, I recommend this book to all romance and chick lit fans. Hmmmm, actually I recommend this book to EVERYONE! Yes, that's better!:)

HASH(0x8cf5b9e4) out of 5 stars Push through the confusion, the resolution is worth it. 23 Jan. 2012
By Tiffany A. Harkleroad - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Kate wakes up with her memory ending when she is 17, without a clue what is going on, and in a stranger's apartment. It becomes clear that Kate is not actually 17, but is in fact suffering memory loss. The stranger quickly becomes a friend, as he tries to help her figure out who she is. Just when it seems their friendship may become more, they receive word that Kate is actually Donna, and her husband has tracked her down. Now Kate/Donna must try to unravel the rest of the mystery and figure out where she goes from here.

Having read quite a few books by this author, I felt like this book took on a very different feel from her previous work. Character development was handled a bit differently, and I would think this was purposeful in order to keep with the feeling of self discovery. How can Kate's character be fully developed when she herself has no clue who she is? We learn snippits of information about her, because that is all she is learning as well. In some ways, this is confusing and frustrating, but really, that is what draws us to Kate as a character; we are feeling the same confusion she is.

I actually quite liked the slightly stormy storyline. I liked watching Kate wrestle with her identity as Donna. I was quite surprised with the choices Kate made in terms of her romantic attachment, I really did not think it was going to go that way. All in all, a solid story, and most fans of Wardell, or chick lit in general, will like the book. I think they key to really enjoying the book is understanding the mental state of the main character, and the fact that the story is unfolding from her point of view. Push through the confusion, the resolution is worth it.

HASH(0x8bc6d3d8) out of 5 stars A Must Read! 27 Nov. 2011

Wow! This is definitely Heather Wardell at her best. I have been a fan of hers for years, but this book is by far the best she has written. The protagonist , Kate, wakes up to find that she has no memories over the last 15 years of her life. Through the story she must find out who she is, where she belongs, and why she has gotten to this point in her life. As the mystery unfolds, Kate has to come to terms with many issues that she had to face over the last 15 years once again. Will she be a better person this time around? Read and find out! I strongly recommend any book by Heather Wardell, but his one is top notch!

HASH(0x8bc6f774) out of 5 stars Yay! I found a great new author! 23 Dec. 2011

Just finished reading "Blank Slate Kate" and am now busy looking up the other books that Heather Wardell has written. Having recently read "What Alice Forgot" and reread "Remember Me", both books I loved, I was curious to see if this author could come up with anything different, or if it would be a copy cat story of another amnesia victim. I have to say that I liked this novel just as much as the others and it totally had me guessing about how things would be resolved, right up until the ending. I wasn't expecting much for under a dollar, but the excellent reviews had me giving it a chance. I am so glad I did and I am really impressed with the way Heather Wardell is able to create such well-developed, believable characters and such a great storyline. I don't know how on earth good writing like this can cost me only 99 cents. I am thinking Ms. Wardell needs a better agent!
